Shah Rukh caused delay of Sanjay Dutt Munnabhai part 3!!

Heard this?? It was Shah Rukh Khan, the King of bollywood who caused delay to Rajkumar Hirani’s third part of ‘Munnabhai’ series starring Sanjay Dutt in the lead.
In fact, Rajkumar Hirani had already announced the name of the film to be ‘Munnabhai chale Amrika’ but could not proceed to make the film as Shah Rukh Khan had already gone ahead with his big budget flick ‘My Name Is Khan’, which was based on similar storyline as Rajkumar Hirani’s project.
As Shah Rukh Khan’s character Rizwan Khan goes to America in Karan Johar’s ‘My Name is Khan’ and does almost all things expected to be done by Munnabhai in its third part, there was no point in doing the same stuff all over again.
Now, Rajkumar Hirani has asked his writer Abhijat Joshi to go to storyboard once again and change the storyline to make it innovative, different and fresh for the audiences.
Sources close to filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra and director Rajkumar Hirani say that the film is likely to go on the floors by April 2011. Hopefully, by that time Abhijat Joshi will have his altered script ready for the third part of the ‘Munnabhai’ series.
Sanjay Dutt, the handsome hunk of bollywood who is all set to play the main lead in third part of the flick, reveals that another reason for the delay was the director’s intention to prove a point that he could also make films which were other than in Munnabhai series. Hirani proved his point well and truly by making Aamir Khan starrer ‘3 Idiots.’
It may be recalled that Rajkumar Hirani had emerged as one of the pioneer filmmakers after the success of first part of Munnabhai films. The second part was even better with ‘Munna’(Sanjay’s character) and ‘Circuit’(Arshad Warsi’s character) becoming households names in the country.
