SRK to produce romantic movies for youth

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's TV production company Red Chillies Idiot Box is set to produce romantic movies for the youth that will be aired on MTV.

After non-stop music and adventure-based reality shows, MTV is venturing into romantic movies that will appeal to the Indian youth.

The channel has collaborated with two production houses - Red Chillies Idiot Box and Milestone Movies Pvt Ltd - to produce three romantic movies as part of their new series "Luv Reels".

"I feel that it is very important to encourage young talent in an industry where there is such fierce competition. Keeping that emotion in mind, we are very happy to associate with MTV to launch careers of fresh talent," Shah Rukh said in a press release.

With this series, MTV is giving a platform to young aspiring actors, singers and music composers. The makers, actors and content of these movies were shortlisted online and the cast for all three movies was selected after gruelling online auditions. The movies have been shot in London and Mumbai and are ready for release.

"Young people are always looking for fresh forms of entertainment and who knows the pulse of this audience better than the audience itself. 'Luv Reels' is India's first user generated film series and it could potentially be the start of something very powerful," Aditya Swamy, senior vice president (Sales and Marketing), MTV India, said in a press release.

The movies will be on air every Saturday starting July 3.

SRK to zoom in world's fastest car

Buzz is that superstar Shahrukh Khan is all set to drive the world's fastest car - the Bugatti Veyron in his forthcoming film Ra One.

Recent reports have revealed that King Khan also plans to take driving lessons from a special technical team that worked in The Pirates of the Caribbean.

A source from Ra One told a news daily that "A team of technicians from The Pirates Of The Caribbean crew is being flown down to teach Shah Rukh how to drive the car with ease. When you are zipping at a top speed of 407 kilometres per hour, your mind cannot afford to drift. Your concentration needs to be at its best."

Shah Rukh plays a superhero in Ra One and drives the fastest car ever. The Bugatti Veyron is to be used in performing many stunts by Shah Rukh in this film. This film is being directed by Anubhav Sinha and it also stars Kareena Kapoor as its leading lady.

Ra One is expected to be SRK's most ambitious project.

SRK cut to size!

Realising security cover has become nothing more than a fashion accessory for several celebrities and politicians, the Mumbai Police has withdrawn the protection provided to 54 people and downgraded that of 24 others.

Five Bollywood personalities have lost their security. They are Karan Johar, Firoz Nadiadwala, Himesh Reshammiya, Vivek Oberoi and Pritish Nandy. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s security has been downgraded. From four policemen on rotation duty, he will now have only two.

Some other names on the list include former IPL chairman Lalit Modi’s son Ruchir and daughter Aliya, Narayan Rane’s PAs Ravi Kamath and Ravi Shedge, Balasaheb Thackeray’s PA Ravindra Mhatre and politician-turned-reality-star Rahul Mahajan. Among those whose security has been downgraded are Lalit Modi and his wife Minal; former home minister Jayant Patil's family; lawyer Majid Memon; and politicians Nawab Malik and Suresh Prabhu.

The information, sought by this paper through an RTI application, also shows that two builders - who are known to provide information about other builders to gangster Ravi Pujari - enjoyed police security. Their security, along with 13 other builders, has now been removed. The decision was taken in a meeting of senior officers at the Protection Branch after it was found that several actors, politicians and builders were enjoying security despite there being no clear and present threat to their lives.

"For each policeman deployed to protect a personality, the public exchequer spends Rs 17,000 a month," said an officer from the Protection Branch. "By that account, over Rs 25 lakh was being spent every month on these 54 people. Close to Rs 10 lakh has been saved by downgrading the security of 24 people," he added.

The RTI reply says that immediately after the protection was withdrawn, at least 11 people made official applications for a review based on alleged fresh threats. "And those are just official figures. Our phone lines are inundated with calls from people claiming to have received fresh threats. Many of these claims are either plain lies or self-generated threats.

Roaming around with police protection has become a status symbol for many people. It is taking a toll on the force which is already reeling under a shortage of manpower," added another senior officer. There are also several businessmen and policemen who enjoyed state security and have now been taken off the list.

This includes former city police commissioner D N Jadhav, former BEST chief Uttam Khobragade and police inspector Praful Bhosale, who was suspended after the custodial death of Ghatkopar blast accused Khwaja Yunus.

Kareena looking gorgeous in "RA.ONE"

Kareena's first look in Anubhav Sinha's sci-fi superhero adventure, RA.ONE, is still not out but we have news from very reliable sources that the leading lady of the film is looking absolutely gorgeous. And the confirmation of the above comes from none other than Red Chillies' first lady, Gauri Khan, wife of producer and lead actor Shah Rukh Khan, who herself is a style icon coming from the family of reputed textile tycoons.

Gauri Khan has only confirmed what we had already informed our patrons sometimes back in our article on your favourite portal-Shah Rukh will do the stunts while Kareena will look beautiful in RA.ONE.

Well, to elaborate, Gauri Khan saw the rushes of what has been shot till now in RA.ONE and was really appreciative of Bebo's stunning looks and was all praise for her scintillating glamorous appearance which naturally pleased Kareena and got her very upbeat about her role and character in RA.ONE.

Well, Kareena will surely add her 'glamour ka tadka' to RA.ONE and coming from Gauri Khan we have reasons to be firm in our belief that this movie will see Kareena in a never before beautiful look.

SRK-Gauri get protective in Mannat!!

Talk to Shah Rukh Khan and if you happen to be a woman, there’s no way you will not end up going weak in the knees. The actor too obliges his female fans by flashing his dimpled smile at them, posing for pictures and signing autographs for them. Just like women shower special attention on Shah Rukh, the actor reciprocates by ensuring women, around him are never ill-treated either.

We recall, during one of the press conferences, Shah Rukh drove the photographers into absolute frenzy (the way it happens every time SRK steps out and attends an event). SRK’s bodyguards tried to control the paparazzi and even in this extreme chaos the actor warned his bodyguards not to hurt any female reporters who were also waiting for his bytes.
The actor is extremely protective of women and hates it when they are put though any form of abuse or discomfort. Shah Rukh and Gauri have thus introduced a norm in Mannat that ensures total comfort for the women workers in the house.
In a tv documentary made on him, the actor himself revealed, “Gauri and I want the female workers of the house to feel at ease when they are working. We thus make sure that on few floors the men workers of the house are not allowed as the women shouldn’t feel conscious when they get up in the morning and start working.”

We were charmed, awed and inspired by SRK all this while but this piece of news has made us realize how great a soul he indeed is other than being a great actor. Hats off to you Shah Rukh.

Shah Rukh Khan was supposed to release his autobiography, 20 Years to a Decade, some time,

Shah Rukh Khan was supposed to release his autobiography, 20 Years to a Decade, some time this year. However, many things hampered his penning of the book, including work schedules, his shoulder injury, filming of Ra.One and a lack of inspiration, among other reasons.

A family holiday in Turkey, though, appears to be exactly what King Khan needed to revive the creative flow in his system!

Via Twitter, SRK reveals that he has finally gotten back to the task. The narrative style of the book will very much follow his easy and friendly conversational manner. SRK is apparently set to poke fun at himself, while underplaying his theatricality. The book release will now possibly happen towards the middle or the end of 2011.

If there's ever been a recounting of memoirs as eagerly awaited - it has to be for you, King Khan!

Crew of "RaOne" the forthcoming SCI FI film of the KING SRK

S R K's Coat marshal

The clothes might make some men, but in King Khan’s case, he definitely makes them, says Mitali Parekh,

I hate shopping. Gauri does it for me. I only have one suit — a black one,” Shah Rukh Khan said in an interview many years ago, during his rise to the throne. Since then, Gauri Khan has reached Victoria Beckham status for her love of premium brands, but SRK seems to have added only a handful of ensembles to his wardrobe.

THE BANDHGALA

We can’t help but envy the lack of strain he must feel before any formal event. His classic Indian formal jacket is up a few notches, thanks to the military buttons and slide pockets. Can any man go wrong with all black? SRK proves they cannot.

SPLASH OF RED
Lest you accuse him of being boring, Shah Rukh has this blood-red waistcoat he wears to rev things up a bit.All he has to do is wear it on top of his uniform of white/black T-shirt and jeans. Aspiring actors, take note — it's your job you should take seriously, not your clothes.

THE BLACK JACKET
A black jacket is a safe bet, but one with a bit of quirk (the metal fastenings at the collar) stands out. This one is probably given to him by Karan Johar, who created a men's line with designer Varun Bahl for the previous Couture Week.

Katrina Kaif wants SRK director for commercial!!

Katrina Kaif, the sizzling hot bollywood babe who has been working with ace director Farah Khan in upcoming ‘Tees Maar Khan’ opposite Akshay Kumar, does not consider herself less than King Khan and wanted Farah to shoot a commercial for her in Abu Dhabi.

Farah Khan, despite of being down with viral fever, decided to fly down to Abu Dhabi to oblige her favorite star and shoot the commercial, which is for an international airlines. The commercial has Katrina Kaif in the lounge of an airport while the public is vying with each other in having her photograph in their mobile phones.

Even the cctv cameras are shown as capturing her grooving to a hot bollywood song. The said commercial has been shot with an eye on social networking sites and cell phones where they are expected to be aired very soon.

The buzz doing the round in the industry is that the Farah Khan’s commercial act, though might seem innocuous, has a deeper meaning because of her tense relations with Shah Rukh Khan and continuously growing relation with Salman Khan and his gang.

It may be recalled that Shah Rukh Khan had asked Farah Khan to direct him in a commercial as he was not satisfied with he final shot and Farah obliged.

This time Katrina Kaif was doing the same. The firang bollywood babe was not satisfied with the shot and asked the makers to rope in Farah Khan and the ace director obliged the ‘Tees Maar Khan’ leading lady.

In any case, the industry has been abuzz with the talk that Shah Rukh Khan’s friends like Riteish Deshmukh, Nikhil Dwivedi, etc, are deserting him.

And in such an atmosphere Farah Khan’s act should only be seen as continuation of that trend in bollywood,

Arjun's Ra.One look make him look haggard?

Traditionally, actresses have contributed to the oomph factor over the decades, while the men have relied on their personality to see them through.

Arjun Rampal is one of the few men who brought in much visual relief for the women. With his chiselled good looks and lean, toned frame, he was a sight for sore eyes.

Yet, at Wednesday’s party to celebrate the success of Raajneeti, there were signs of wear and tear. The usually dapper actor looked remarkably gaunt and haggard.

The prominent dark circles are a dead giveaway that the actor hasn’t been getting enough sleep. A case of all work and no play, Arjun?

Gone is the appealing clean-shaven look and the natty dressing, replaced by a size-zero, anorexic avatar.

There is talk that Arjun’s character in Ra.One is required to be a lean, mean machine.

So maybe he is merely being professional. But sadly, in a more casual set-up, like at this party, one can’t help but notice that the emaciated frame is lending a burnt-out aura to the usually chipper dude.

SRK's belly dancing!

The fact that Shah Rukh Khan feels he is capable of doing absolutely anything in order to rediscover himself is what makes him different than his contemporaries.

The actor has no boundaries and never feels he is confined to doing a particular thing in order to please his fans. After being able to get six packs in Om Shanti Om at the age of 45, SRK will now be entering pop star Shakira’s territory!

We don’t mean the superstar is taking to singing professionally. We are talking Belly dancing!

The actor who is holidaying in Europe currently, revealed how his trainers have suggested him to learn Belly dancing in order to maintain the abs.

“Off to gym then a swim & for the abs have been suggested a belly dance with some Turkish dancers. Stars have such a tough exercise regimen,” wrote Shah Rukh on Twitter.

Shah Rukh gave us all a taste of his belly dancing during the IPL awards recently as he gyrated along with Yuvraj Singh and Adam Gilchrist on stage as he moved his waist. Shah Rukh is a fan of Shakira, so it won’t be long before we would see SRK doing a Waka Waka in Bollywood.

Shah Rukh Khan to drive world’s fastest car in ‘Ra.One’

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is all set to drive world’s fastest car – Volkswagen Bugatti in his forthcoming film ‘Ra.One’.

News has it that a team of technicians from ‘The Pirates of the Carribean’ will teach Shah Rukh to drive Bugatti – an ultimate dream machine and the world’s fastest production car.

In order to master the mean machine, Shah Rukh will be taking special lessons for driving the speed demon.

Talking to a news daily, a source from the film said, “A team of technicians from ‘The Pirates Of The Caribbean’ crew is being flown down to teach Shah Rukh how to drive the car with ease. When you are zipping at a top speed of 407 kilometres per hour, your mind cannot afford to drift. Your concentration needs to be at its best.”

Touted as SRK’s most ambitious project, ‘Ra.One’ is the abridged version for ‘Random Access Version One’ where Shah Rukh plays a superhero and drives the fastest car. It is believed that Shah Rukh will perform several stunts while driving Bugatti.

At present, SRK is busy holidaying with his family, as the source added, “He will be taking his family to South Africa for the FIFA final. From there, he plans to go straight to London for the next schedule of ‘Ra.One.’ It is in this schedule that most of the portions using the Volkswagen Bugatti would be shot. As soon as he reaches London, the experts will commence the driving lessons.”

Shahrukh Vs Brad Pitt

Bollywood superstar Vs Hollywood heartthrob
First up, for those of you who don’t know, here’s a little introduction to the world of Bollywood.

Formally referred to as Hindi cinema, Bollywood is the largest film producer in India and one of the largest centres for film production in the world. For a long time Bollywood was more financially viable than it’s western ‘H’ namesake.

With multi million pound productions with glorious cinematic colour and sweeping soundtracks, Bollywood films now traverse the globe and have a huge and devoted worldwide fan base.

A great emphasis is always placed on shooting and choreography for the course of Bollywood’s standpatter three hour epics full of melodrama and adventure. Increasing accessibility to professional special effects in recent years has resulted in more ventures into the action and sci fi genres and Bollywood is now a direct competitor to Hollywood’s dominance on the world stage rather than, as previously referred to, ‘a poor cousin’.

My Name is Khan is the second most expensive Bollywood film to date after Fox Star Entertainment bought the rights for the sum of INR 1 billion.

Starring Shahrukh Khan and Kajol, it is released here on DVD on Monday, June 28. Here’s a quick rundown of its leading man and a comparison to his Hollywood counterpart Brad Pitt.

Bollywood versus Hollywood…who would win in a fight? Go!

Shahrukh Khan

With nicknames including ‘King Khan’ and ‘The King of Romance’ Khan is the most sought-after actor in Bollywood.

Born on November 2 1965, he’s a fair whack shorter than Brad at 5ft 8in. A follower of Islam, he’s been married to Gauri Khan since 1991 and has two children, Aryan and Suhana. Khan and his family have three dogs now after his beloved dog Chewbacca died.

Khan has won 13 Filmfare awards. Seven of which were for Best Actor. In 2005, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri for his contributions to Indian Cinema. His IMDB profile states he has 26 wins out of 27 nominations.

Brad Pitt

William Bradley Pitt is the epitome of the Hollywood pin-up and shot to stardom after his early role in Thelma and Louise.

Born on December 18 1963, Pitt is a little shorter than your usual six-foot-plus hunk at 5ft 11in. He has dated, and been married to, some of the most beautiful women in Tinseltown: Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston and now Angelina Jolie.

Pitt has his hands full with three adopted and three biological children with wife Angelina Jolie.

He won a Golden Globe in 1996 for Best Performance in a Leading Role for Twelve Monkeys. Nominated for two Oscars, he’s never picked up that elusive win but has a total of 25 wins and 44 nominations.

So Ladies – and gents – please leave your comments.

Will Shah Rukh Khan reveal all?

Shah Rukh Khan has restarted writing his autobiography tentatively titled 20 Years To A Decade that was on hold for a long time.
Sources say he has already finished writing half the book that is likely to reveal many untold details about his life.

Shah Rukh’s hectic work schedule coupled with a lot of travelling and then his shoulder injury post which he immediately plunged into shooting for Ra.1 had stopped him from writing the book for 8-9 months.

It seems Turkey, where the actor is presently holidaying with his family, has inspired him to resume writing the autobiography.

Shah Rukh had tweeted a couple of days ago, “in kusadasi a quaint port town in turkey. must say the trip makes me romantic & full of creative ideas. have started to write my book again.”

A source adds, “SRK was looking at releasing the book this year but that plan will not materialise because he still has to complete writing the book. After that the proof will be read by the publishers, then the editing will take place and a final clearance from SRK will have to be taken. Most probably the book will be out sometime in the middle of or end of next year.”

The source ends saying, “SRK has always been a good talker and the book will follow his easy and friendly style of communicating. He’ll not stop at making fun of himself as he always does at public events. But he is underplaying his trademark flamboyance completely in the book. It is definitely a new SRK who the fans will get to meet. He is understated and very humble about his achievements.”

SRK's friends are now Sallu's friend's so mean!

Is everyone, who has had some problem with Shah Rukh Khan, trying to prove a point to the Bollywood Badshah by becoming pally with his friend-turned-foe, Salman Khan?

Riteish Deshmukh used to be his good friend till SRK replaced him with Arjun Rampal in Ra One. The friendship turned sour and Riteish is now seen hanging around with Salman. Even Nikhil Dwivedi, who had solid backing from SRK in his first film My Name is Anthony Golsalves, is nowadays singing praises of Salman who gifted the struggling actor a watch. Mushtaq Sheikh, who had written a coffee-table book on SRK, and who was constantly seen in his company, now drops by on Salman’s sets just to say ‘Hello Brother’. And Farah Khan, who earlier was the mainstay of King Khan’s camp, has shifted her support to Akshay Kumar and Salman now. These are not the only ones from SRK’s coterie who seem to have found a friend in Sallu bhai. If sources are to be believed, then Sanjay Kapoor and Chunky Pandey, too, were recently spotted hanging around with Salman in Dubai and Colombo. Hope their wives, Maheep and Bhavna, won’t change loyalties and continue sticking to Gauri Khan like magnets.

"It was such a pleasure to shoot with SRK" - Sonal Chauhan

Sonal Chauhan, the dusky beauty who was last seen in Jannat opposite Emraan Hashmi, is back with a 'brand' in a new advertisement for Dish TV with none other than the Baadshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan.

Bollywood Hungama caught up with the beautiful actress to find out more, who willingly tells us, "Yes actually, we have finished with the shoot for the ad about 25 days ago and currently it is being aired on TV networks."

Talking about working with SRK, she says, "It was such a pleasure to shoot with SRK. Firstly, I am a big admirer of his, so when I was approached for the ad by the ad director, I was more than willing. There was no way I was going to say no."

"The ad itself was shot very fast. I think the reason for this is that Shah Rukh is such a magnificent person that all his shots were done in just a single take, besides one more thing I noticed while shooting at Yash Raj studios was that SRK is such a gentleman."

Coming to her films, Sonal says, "My film with Owais Hussain is ready, and currently it is being edited since we have finished shooting. However, I cannot tell you anymore as Owais is the best person to speak to about this. Apart from this, I have another film lined up but again, I can't tell you much as it's still a bit too early."

RGV takes a dig at SRK now

Just two days ago, RGV on twitter commented on the comparisons being drawn between the lately released RAAVAN and his most-ridiculed film RAM GOPAL VARMA KI AAG. Now, he has set his eyes on Shah Rukh Khan's RA.ONE.

A tweet from @RGVZoomin read, "Let's all hope nd pray that Ra 1 ds not become SRK ki bearish."

He further added, "Let's all hope nd pray that Ra 1 ds not bcm SRK ki AAG."

"I got a better idea.. I will make My name is raavan and Mani should make Raavan ki Kurbaan"

"I want to remake Raavan and I want to request Mani to remake Aag," tweets RGV.

For the uninitiated, RA.ONE is a science-fiction superhero film directed by Anubhav Sinha. The film, which features Shahrukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal, will be produced under SRK's production company, Red Chillies Entertainment.

Let's wait and watch how Shah Rukh Khan reacts to these comments.

SRK gets in a spitting contest

Who was his partner in the ‘awful and dirty' prank?

Shah Rukh Khan’s a doting dad alright, one who’s always ready to get childlike with his kids Aryan and Suhana. That explains why he got into a spitting competition with Aryan!

SRK, who’s on a family holiday in Turkey, posted on his Twitter page, late yesterday (June 20) “With my son. Had seen spitting contest in Titanic. Trying to recreate this awful dirty and childish prank with him. It’s Fathers Day!”

He added, “Have to muster up some pressure in the mouth for the spitting championships.”

So what else did SRK and the kids get up to on Father’s Day? “On Father’s Day took the kids to a waterpark. Dont flinch jumping 30/40 ft for a stunt...but had to hold onto them to go down a waterslide,” he continued.

And then the star showed off his funny side, as usual. “To gym, then a swim & for the abs have been suggested a belly dance with some Turkish dancers. Stars have such a tough exercise regimen ha ha.”

Shah Rukh and family are also going off the usual celeb trail in Turkey. He’d posted earlier, “In Kusadasi a quaint port town in Turkey. Must say the trip makes me romantic & full of creative ideas. Have started to write my book again.”

So SRK's writing a book too? We wonder if the spitting contest will make it to the final draft!

I am SRK's die-hard fan: Amrita Rao

Main Hoon Na is almost a decade old. But Amrita Rao is still in the MHN mould.

The actress admits to being a Shah Rukh Khan fan ever since she was in college. In fact, she’s one of those die-hard fans, who claims to have seen the romantic superstar’s Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge umpteen times and all in a theatre.

In fact, he’s the only star who’s films she would watch in a theatre and many a times still does. “I have seen DDLJ more than a dozen times in the theatre. Me and my cousins would always begin our summer vacations with his film,” said Amrita like a true-blue fan. But now that she’s an actress herself, does she hope to be paired opposite him as well. “Of course. SRK is on the wish-list of all Indian women.

I am no different,” she laughed. Well, hard to say if Ms Rao’s revelation will help her win some brownie points with the Badshah, but they don’t call him the dream hero for nothing, so dream on Amrita!

Fathers’ Day with Shahrukh Khan

The third Sunday of June is marked as Fathers’ Day and is celebrated all over the world. Why celebrate a Fathers’ Day? A man with all his virtues and moral values nourishes your development. He spends his hard earned money on you so that you get a better education as well as better facilities in all aspects of your life. But he never asks you anything in return for the money and love that he has showered on you. Why? Because he is your father. So, why not make him feel special for at least one day? Let us take a little time from our busy schedules and dedicate the day to this great man in our lives.

The Baadshah of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan also has a special corner for his father, who is no more now. He starts by wishing everyone a Happy Fathers' Day! Then he quotes a beautiful line, “Any man can be a Father but it takes time to be a dad.”

It’s really true that the line means a lot. SRK adds, “Who is Dad? Is he the mess-maker, rule-breaker, risk-taker and the opposite of mothers, who usually acts like the creator and nurturer? But in spite of all these things, dads must be doing something quite right! I am happy to know that most of you have joined me in the ‘Pappu and Pappa’ campaign and have made a move towards being the family man by spending some quality time with your kids.”

King Khan continued, “Father’s Day is our day, to celebrate ‘being a dad’. This day comes with an opportunity to show and convey our love and care. It’s an appropriate platform to look at our children and credit them for bringing joy and happiness. After all, a child gives birth to a father as well. But even though it’s celebrated once a year, it’s the ever after effect of being a father that will keep us connected.”

Shahrukh has rightly said that. But the young children of today also need to realize the value of their fathers. Sometimes, we get so busy in our profession that at the end of the day we just want to relax and have fun with our friends. But what about that man, who have spent years of his life caring for your growth and prosperity?

In the words of Shahrukh, “A father’s role is different to different people so I cannot do justice by trying to define it. But traditionally, we hold the role of being the head of the family, protector and role models to our children. We are definitely the more unpredictable lot for our kids. At times we may have rocked our kids more than their moms and rolled on the floor foolishly to play. Moms and dads are indeed different. And we know we cannot be like the mothers but we do know that we can make all the difference by being right there.

“I understand it’s not easy but I appreciate the effort that’s being put in by all the fathers, as more and more fathers are becoming aware and taking their role and responsibility seriously, turning into great dads. For this moment, I dedicate a song for our special day…..Will Smith’s “Just the Two of Us" which celebrates fatherhood,” he signs off.

SRK celebrates Father's Day in Istanbul

According to a little birdie, Bollywood King Shah Rukh Khan took his family on a trip to Istanbul to celebrate Father's Day.

King Khan said that Istanbul was one of the three places his father wanted to go with him.

Khan tweets, "My father always wanted me to visit Kashmir, Rome and Istanbul with him. He is not around so taking my kids to these places. He will be pleased."

SRK as a loving dad
Shah Rukh Khan has always been a loving dad for his children. Though he is a busy actor, he knows how to take out time for his beloved kids.

Married to Gauri Khan, Shah Rukh has two children, Aryan (13) and Suhana (10).

As quoted by The Times Of India, SRK said, "Someone rightly said, 'Any man can be a father, but it takes time to be a dad'. And that someone was just right."

"Who is dad? He's the mess-maker, rule-breaker, risk-taker and the opposite of mom who is usually seen as the creator and nurturer. But for all his mischief, dads are doing something quite right."

"At times we may have rocked our kids more than their moms have and rolled on the floor foolishly to play. So moms and dads are indeed different. And we know we cannot be like the mothers, but we do know that we can make all the difference by being right there," SRK added.

SRK losses weight while shooting for 'Ra.1'
According to the sources, SRK losses lots of weight during the shooting of 'Ra.1' due to the prosthetics make-up technique that does not allow him to have food and drink water for 8-10 hours.

A source said, "Once on, Shah Rukh Khan can't take the make-up off throughout the day. It's so delicate that any form of pressure would damage it. If that happens then Shah Rukh would have to go through the exhaustive process of make-up again to perfect it."

"Shah Rukh might have lost at least 4-5 kilos during these days of shooting but he has consulted his doctors and the situation has not yet reached an alarming level," the source added.

Shah Rukh on Father's day

He plays a perfect lover on-screen and off screen he is the best dad. Describing a father's role, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan says dads are usually seen as rule-breakers and risk-takers with their kids.

"Someone rightly said, 'Any man can be a father, but it takes time to be a dad'. And that someone was just right," said Shah Rukh who has two children - son Aryan and daughter Suhana.

"Who is dad? He's the mess-maker, rule-breaker, risk-taker and the opposite of mom who is usually seen as the creator and nurturer. But for all his mischief, dads are doing something quite right," the actor said in a statement on the occasion of Father's Day.

Known as Bollywood's favourite romantic hero, Shah Rukh donned the role of a modern, loving dad in movies like "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" and "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham".

"Father's Day is our day, to celebrate 'being dad'. This day gives us the opportunity to show and express our love and care. It's an appropriate platform to look at our children and credit them for bringing joy and happiness. After all, a child gives birth to a father as well. But even though it's celebrated once a year, it's the ever after effect of being a father that will keep us connected.

"A father's role means different to different people so I cannot do justice by trying to define it. But in the traditional way, we hold the role of being the head of the family, protector and role models to our children. We are definitely the more unpredictable lot with our kids.

"At times we may have rocked our kids more than their moms have and rolled on the floor foolishly to play. So moms and dads are indeed different. And we know we cannot be like the mothers, but we do know that we can make all the difference by being right there.

"I understand it's not easy, but I appreciate the effort that's being put in by all fathers, as more and more fathers are becoming aware and taking their role and responsibility seriously and turning into great dads."

Apart from movies, in the recent Pepsodent's ad 'Pappu and Pappa', Shah Rukh is seen playing a doting father to child artist Keval.

"I am happy to know that most of you have joined me in 'Pappu and Pappa' campaign and have made a move towards being the family man and taken to spending quality time with your kids.

"For this moment, I dedicate a song for our special day... Will Smith's 'Just the Two of Us' which celebrates fatherhood. And... dear dads you can do more... Wish you a Happy Fathers Day."

SRK loses weight due to Ra.One

Shooting for Ra.One is adversely affecting Shah Rukh Khan's health. The actor has to don prosthetic make up for 8 to 10 hours a day without a break, even though the make up makes it impossible for him to eat or drink. Removing the make up is not possible either as it is a very delicate cast and even the slightest pressure can break it. It takes hours for the artists to redo it again. As a result, he has lost around 5 kgs since shooting began.

However, his doctors believe the situation has not yet reached alarming proportions and Shah Rukh will be back to his old self once shooting ends.

SRK on a special celeb cruise in Instanbul

By the time you read this, Shah Rukh Khan, with his parivaar would have boarded a celebrity cruise in Istanbul, and will come back only after the 25th. After turning heads and dropping jaws (SRK at Bachchan premiere – where did the hush- hush rivalry disappear and how?) at the Raavan premiere in London, Khan is apparently taking a week’s break travelling on this special celeb cruise.

DELHI DOSTS: Further, the khabar is that since this cruise took off on the 10th, there are many jaane maaney log on board already – Krishna Kapoor (Raj Kapoor’s wife) with Ranbir Kapoor, and Ritu and Natasha Nanda. Before we think the Khans are set to holiday with the Kapoors, the source reveals that they are not a part of the SRK group. So who’s he holidaying with? His Delhi buddies – bro-in-law Vikrant with Namita Chhibba as well as Gauri’s mom Savita, SRK’s close friend Sanjay Passi and his wife Shalini, along with the glam couple’s Mumbai-based friend, socialite Kaajal Anand.

I LUV DITCH STORIES: As if the cruise was not buzzing with enough well-known and well-talked about personalities, we got to know that Karan Johar was initially going to be a part of it, but the director could not make it. Goss is that he ditched them ’coz of work. Remember he’s busy with his upcoming movie? So while mom Hiroo Johar would be there, beta would be away. Well, Karan, we thought that for you, it’s all about loving your family, isn’t it?

Ra.One early next year

If you thought Ra.One would take long in post productions considering it is one project highly dependent on special effects sources says it won’t. The film took almost two years to go on floors during which apparently Shah Rukh Khan and Anubhav Sinha detailed ever action and what can be done even as shoots are on.

“So while they are still shooting for the film post production is on too at Red Chilies VFX office. They are working nonstop because Shah Rukh wants the film out by early next year – preferably January,” says a source.

“He has in fact already started looking drawing marketing plans which will start months before the release. This one will be one hyped up project!” adds the source.

Major chunk of Ra.One has already been shot in the studios of Mumbai and now the team needs foreign locales for which recce were done months in advance so that they don’t waste any time during shooting stage. Some production ethics!

Fathers are rule-breakers, risk-takers, says SRK

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan feels that both parents have very different roles to play in a child's life and fathers can not be like mothers.

"A dad is the mess-maker, rule-breaker, risk-taker and the opposite of mom who is usually seen as the creator and nurturer," the 44-year-old actor said in message on Father's Day which would be celebrated on June 20.

"We know we cannot be like the mothers, but we do know that we can make all the difference by being right there," said SRK, a doting father of Aryan, 13, and ten year-old Suhana.

He also dedicated Will Smith's 'Just the Two of Us' to all the fathers who are becoming aware and taking up their responsibility seriously and turning into great dads.

According to Shah Rukh, the day gives fathers the opportunity to show and express their love and care.

Happy Fathers Day from Shahrukh Khan!

This day gives us the opportunity to show and express our love and care. It’s an appropriate platform to look at our children and credit them for bringing joy and happiness,

Happy Fathers Day! Someone rightly said ‘Any man can be a Father but it takes time to be a dad’… and that someone was just right!

Who is Dad? He's the mess-maker, rule-breaker, risk-taker and the opposite of Mom who is usually seen as the creator and nurturer. But for all his mischief, dads are doing something quite right! I am happy to know that most of you have joined me in “Pappu and Pappa” campaign and have made a move towards being the family man and taken to spending quality time with your kids. Father’s Day is our day, to celebrate ‘being dad’. This day gives us the opportunity to show and express our love and care. It’s an appropriate platform to look at our children and credit them for bringing joy and happiness.

After all, a child gives birth to a Father as well. But even though it’s celebrated once a year, it’s the ever after effect of being a Father that will keep us connected. A father’s role means different to different people so I cannot do justice by trying to define it. But in the traditional way, we hold the role of being the head of the family, protector and role models to our children. We are definitely the more unpredictable lot with our kids. At times we may have rocked our kids more than their moms have and rolled on the floor foolishly to play.

So moms and dads are indeed different. And we know we cannot be like the mothers but we do know that we can make all the difference by being right there. I understand it’s not easy but I appreciate the effort that’s being put in by all fathers, as more and more fathers are becoming aware and taking their role and responsibility seriously and turning into great dads. For this moment, I dedicate a song for our special day…..Will Smith’s "Just the Two of Us" which celebrates Fatherhood And… dear dads you can do more… Wish you a Happy Fathers Day!

London crowds throng as SRK joins Bachchans

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan joined the Bachchan family here for the world premiere of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai starrer Raavan, pulling in huge crowds that wanted to see Big B and King Khan together.

Hundreds of fans Wednesday night thronged the British Film Institute in London's Southbank for the premiere, but more to catch a glimpse of Amitabh Bachchan with Shah Rukh, the two leading stars of the Hindi film industry who have sometimes been dubbed as rivals.

Directed by Mani Ratnam, Raavan is a Hindi-Tamil bilingual and also stars Tamil superstar Vikram, who makes his Bollywood debut with the Hindi version. A co-production of Reliance BIG Pictures and Madras Talkies, the film will Friday hit about 2,200 screens worldwide.

On Sunday, Amitabh tweeted, "Shah Rukh, Abhishek probably spoke to you about the London premiere of 'Raavan', see you, Gauri and the kids there. Good that you are coming."

Shah Rukh is here to shoot for his home production Ra One.

Overwhelmed with the response here, Abhishek, 34, who is playing a negative role in Raavan, told journalists: "It's wonderful. Look at the reception we've got. We are feeling on top of the world and so happy that we came to London to premiere the film."

In the Hindi version, Aishwarya plays Ragini, a dance teacher who is married to a cop, played by Vikram. In the course of events, she is abducted by Beera (Abhishek) and held hostage at his jungle hideout.

The Tamil version is titled Raavanan and Vikram plays the antagonist Beera in it, while Prithviraj will be seen as Aishwarya's cop husband.

SRK asks Karan to shoot 'Ra.One'

Anubhav Sinha seems to be doing a fine job of directing sci-fi film "Ra.One", but actor-producer Shah Rukh Khan still wants his close friend Karan Johar to take some shots to bring in good luck.

"Come to London and shoot a few shots for 'Ra.One' for luck," Shah Rukh posted to Karan on micro-blogging site Twitter.

Karan, who directed his films with Shah Rukh in the lead, replied: "Will arrive for sure bhai (brother)... though my action and sci-fi skills are highly questionable!"

In fact, Karan is producing "Agneepath" remake but he will not wield the megaphone for the movie as he doubts his capability of directing an action film.

Akshay bumps into Aamir, SRK

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar had a "superstar experience" while flying in and out of Mumbai recently.

When the actor was travelling from London to Mumbai, Aamir Khan was on his flight and next day when he took a flight back to London to join his wife and son for summer holidays, he met Shah Rukh Khan.

Akshay described his superstar experience on twitter as "funniest".

The actor said both he and Aamir enjoyed a bit of the football world cup before they flew back to Mumbai together.

"And the next day I flew back to London to join my wife and son for our summer holiday and I met Shah Rukh Khan on my flight. It was nice to know he feels as grateful as I am for being a part of our industry and how lucky we are...," he wrote.

Akshay, who is currently shooting for 'Patiala House' in London, said it was amazing that he managed to chat more with his work mates on a flight than he does in the entire year.

Anubhav needs Shah Rukh's consent

When you have Shah Rukh Khan in your film and a lot of money riding on it, it's natural that expectations are high. Though Anubhav Sinha (director of Dus and Tum Bin) has taken on Shah Rukh's home production Ra.One, he is apparently turning to Shah Rukh for approval after every take. This means that Shah Rukh is effectively calling the shots.

A source from the unit says, "After every shot, Anubhav looks at Shah Rukh for approval. Shah Rukh tries to look away a bit, not wanting to interfere. But Anubhav is too awed by Shah Rukh's presence on the set. He doesn't okay any scene until Shah Rukh says so. He calls Shah Rukh and says, 'Sir, dekh lo, theek hai ya nahi'."
We hear that Anubhav even asks Shah Rukh if he would like another take or not. "The number of takes in almost every scene depend on what Shah Rukh feels after he sees, or rather is made to see, the scene on the monitor," adds the source.

We don't know if Shah Rukh is enjoying this. But anyway, he probably isn't complaining as Ra.One is his company's most ambitious and expensive project till date.

Repeated calls and a text message to Anubhav were unanswered.

Shahrukh Khan wants luck for ‘Ra.One’ What to do?

Actor-turned-producer Shahrukh Khan’s focus is solely on his mega project Ra.One. Yeah! playing a superhero is no cakewalk but definitely a back aching grind. And to double it up with the responsibilities of a producer makes the task all the more daunting.

So what’s wrong if the superstar wants to bring on some good luck for India’s biggest sci-fi film? SRK has asked his good friend, director Karan Johar to take some shots for ‘Ra.One’ because the actor apparently considers Karan lucky even though everyone knows that Karan has never directed an action flick.

Khan, who is in London nowadays, tweets to Karan, “Come to London and shoot a few shots for ‘Ra.One’ for luck.” To which, Karan replies, “Will arrive for sure bhai (brother)... though my action and sci-fi skills are highly questionable!”

Rub some luck!

SRK to invade Italy, Greece

A long and beautiful journey awaits Shah Rukh Khan, who is all set to explore the spectacular towns of London, Italy, Greece and Turkey in the coming days.

What makes this journey all the more interesting is that King Khan will have his entire family and bunch of his close friends like Reema Kapoor, Kajal Anand and others accompanying him for the much needed break.

A source close to the Khan family tells us that the family plans to cruise its way to all these fantastic locales and is busy shopping and packing for the tour that starts in a day or two. SRK also plans to drop at South Africa to witness the adrenaline rushing football matches.

SRK excitedly posted on his social networking page, “Long journey now, in a day or two. Istanbul, London, S Africa, Rome etc... Have to shoot too.”

Once back in Mumbai, SRK will again get busy with the shooting schedule of his home production, ‘Ra.One’.
