"My Name is Karan and I'm trully humbled"

The box office history seems to have been re-written by Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar and Fox Star (India) with their new release - My Name is Khan which smashed all previous box office records.
The film has managed to become highest-ever single opening day collection for a Hindi movie worldwide in many of the markets all over the world. The movie has also managed to bargain a fair share of world's media attention. The Guardian says," a likeable and slickly-constructed Bollywood tale of understanding and tolerance." The Hollywood Reporter says MNIK is "well worth the 162 minutes journey". And LA Times describes the SRK-Kajol movie as "a sweeping epic-potent, engaging and timely entertainment.
Globally, MNIK as reported has broken almost every record there is for Bollywood. The International opening day collection of MNIK is said to be 30 per cent higher than its closest competitor. Shah Rukh Khan who is the King of Bollywood in UK, his movie that previewed on February 11, came fourth in the market, so MNIK broke the single day preview figure held by another Karan Johar flick "Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna" (2006).
“We are delighted with the performance and the audience reactions across demographics,’’ says Vijay Singh of Fox Star Studios. “More so, because this is just one phase of the release. Besides the 45 countries where MNIK is already playing, it will be rolled out in a phased manner across 25 non-traditional markets from April onwards.’’
Karan feels on the top of the world and expresses his joy by saying,"I am overwhelmed with all the feedback. I’ve never received so much love on any film before. It is heartening to connect with the audiences worldwide. My name is Karan and I’m truly humbled.’’
