SRK to stay away from KKR game
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner Shah Rukh Khan will not be present when his side takes on Mahendra Singh Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings in a must win encounter for teams Tuesday at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
"No, I won't come to Chennai for the match. Think the team needs to introspect and play without my interference...emotional or physical," the superstar tweeted Monday. The Knight Riders have not been consistent enough in their campaign this year and are now ranked sixth with 10 points from 11 matches with a poor net run rate of -0.417. Shah Rukh is worried about that. "I think our main issue is winning consecutive games. We haven't since the first two. Momentum and consistence amiss," Shah Rukh said on the social networking site.
Shah Rukh, who is busy shooting for his forthcoming film "Ra. One", also feels that only praying for his team's success will not work. Performance on the field is the only mantra for the Knights. "Ha ha... someone said better way to pray at KKR matches will help...I don't think so...I think better play at KKR matches will help our cause," he said.
The Knight Riders need to win all three of their remaining matches to stay in contention for a semi final berth. With Mumbai Indians making the semi-finals for the first time in IPL history Sunday after mauling the Rajasthan Royals, the only team not to feature in the semis ever is the Knight Riders.
