Its KKR for Sameera at IPL


The Knights’ prestige and honour was at stake. But their armour continued to shine on brightly under the Eden lights on Wednesday.

For starters, the Devils were well-equipped to conquer their kingdom. But in came Dinda. David Warner, the man who had given SRK’s team a tough time, when the two teams crossed swords, was consumed in the very first over. Ashok Dinda was firing all cylinders. The moment he uprooted Warner’s wicket, the crowd erupted, albeit in its half strength, courtesy the missing stands.

With the super hospitality box lacking its usual lustre (read SRK and Juhi), it was up to Sameera Reddy to add that much-needed glamorous touch. But with King Khan missing from the stand, the action in the middle held centrestage. There were apprehensions, and rightly so, whether the Knights will be able to keep their semi-final hopes alive. The chances looked bleak with Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and Dinesh Karthik holding fort for the Devils.

But then, Lady Luck had decided to smile on Dada. He held the reins with a 46-ball 56, a crucial run out and a clever change of bowling. Even the Team Delhi captain, Gambhir, was all praise for Sourav, whose direct throw found Gambhir short of his crease. “Yes, my run out was crucial.
