After a crushing loss to Chennai, Shah Rukh says he 'completely takes the blame'
Shah Rukh Khan’s IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders, were completely outclassed by the Chennai Super Kings at today’s (April 13) match, and the star was so affected by this latest poor performance that he poured his heart out on Twitter. SRK’s team scored just 139/8 at the match played in Chennai, while the opposing team ended with 143/1 in just 13.3 overs.
Shah Rukh wasn’t in Chennai for the match, but it was obvious that he was very, very upset by the result. Once the match ended, he posted a series of messages on his Twitter account that showed his state of mind.
He started with, “I completely take the blame for not putting up a good enough show...so much love for kkr & i couldnt reciprocate. Will call all & thank them (KKR team) for trying, even if it wasnt good enuff. all r a good bunch. all of them. Sometimes our best not good enuff.”
Then SRK became more emotional, and sounded even sadder. “Final thanx to kolkata audience. u make us proud...couldnt do the same...& cant make any promises for future either, have lost the right. my kids gave me a hug for the first time in 3 yrs when we lost. they have overcome the sadness of defeats better than me. time to learn.”
He continued, “Just disappointed. cant do anymore for kkr. sorry cant sound fakely uppity about next season & thanx for support tweets. many friends at home..so will be with them. will try & get over this loss too..like in the last 2 yrs. all supporters try the same.”
SRK finally signed off, still despondent. “I am off now to deal with disappointments in the way i know best. u find ur poison. love u all. unconditional apologies to all. I am not sad. just feel awful for kolkata & all of this, most wonderful city & my sponsors..nokia & xxx drink. no promises anymore.”
Oh, we’re sad that Shah Rukh sounds so sad. But knowing the kind of positive person he is, we think he'll bounce right back. And that's what we'll be hoping for as well.
