Shahrukh returns the favour

Bollywood Badshah Shahrukh Khan really knows his friends. He has displayed his feeling of concern to the B- Town lovely lady Lara as she supported her during his crisis.

SRK had tough time during the casting of Billu where everybody refused SRK to be a part of the project. Finally, Lara agreed so SRK has returned the favour and Lara will be doing Esha Koppikar's role in Don 2.

Surely, Lara is a lucky girl!

SRK makes history in China

From Berlin, where he is currently shooting for Farhan Akhtar's Don 2, Shah Rukh Khan will be headed to China for the premiere of My Name Is Khan (MNIK).

And this occasion will go down in history because no Indian film has been released in China in the last 30 years. Intense preparations are on for the premiere, tentatively scheduled for November 30 in Beijing.

Producer Karan Johar says, "It's an honour especially since China allows only the release of 20 foreign films a year. I can't remember when was the last time an Indian film was released there.

We must have done something right this time, no?" Karan is already planning Shah Rukh's clothes for the Beijing premiere. Though he's tightlipped about it, we did get to know that it'll be a fusion of ethinic Indian wear with a typical Chinese style.

Vijay Singh CEO of Fox-Star, whose team has been thrown into a flurry of activities by this sudden Chinese invitation, says, "The Chinese authorities are really hard on foreign films. To be asked to release Khan is an amazing honour."

Considering the limited time available to Karan Johar and Fox-Star, it seems more likely that the film would be subtitled in Chinese. But that shouldn't be an impediment for SRK; after all, his name is Khan.

SRK learns scuba diving

King Khan never loses his appetite to learn more. We hear that the King Khan has learnt scuba diving on the sets of Don 2 that is currently under production.

He also then tried his hands at the risky base diving, of course, under proper guidance and safety measures. However, SRK took to scuba diving like a fish to water. He spent hours diving and even overshot the specified time limit by a bit as he was enjoying it so much.

SRK's birthday plans revealed

I am going first to Rome for the festival where My Name Is Khan is getting screened. Shah Rukh is also coming there. Then we will fly together to Berlin to spend his birthday with his family and close friends, which is me," Karan told IANS after unveiling the third season of his talk show Koffee with Karan here at Novotel Hotel on Friday.

Shah Rukh Khan is shooting for actor-director Farhan Akhtar's Don2 in Berlin. Shah Rukh and Kajol starrer My Name is Khan is a love story set against the backdrop of racial discrimination post 9/11.

Hrithik in "Don 2"?

A 'secret' role had Hrithik Roshan flying in to Berlin for Farhan Akhtar's next,

Hrithik Roshan flew off last night to Berlin for a hush-hush shoot the film in question being Farhan Akhtar's Don 2 - The Chase Continues.

Says a source, "Recently, there was buzz about Hrithik joining in Shah Rukh Khan's birthday celebrations as he's extremely close to King Khan.

While that may be true, the real reason for Duggu's departure to Berlin is being kept under wraps. Apparently, producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani were keen that Hrithik do a special cameo in Don 2."

Adds the source, "Roshan's character is a stylised one with interesting shades and they felt only he could do justice to it. But Farhan and Ritesh want to keep Hrithik's role hidden till the film's release as it's one of the highlights of Don 2.

Duggu is very close to Farhan and Ritesh (he acted in Farhan's Lakshya, made a special appearance in Zoya Akhtar's Luck By Chance and is also in Zoya's next Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara) and he couldn't refuse them."

Besides the character, the source insists that the Roshan boy's presence would add star-studded value to the film. "Hrithik and Shah Rukh will come together again in Don 2 after Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. They shared an amazing chemistry and are close friends even today.

The audience would love to see SRK and Hrithik again come together in some explosive scenes. Don 2 has highly specialised and daring stunts performed by Shah Rukh and Duggu might be seen in a stunt or two himself. He will be in Berlin for a week."

SRK : Berlin Could Supplant Paris & London As Favourite Tourism Destinations!

Indian Bollywood hero Shah Rukh Khan, who is filming his latest action movie 'Don 2' in Berlin, predicted Friday that the film's success would encourage millions of Indians to visit the German capital.
"You will have problems getting rid of all the Indians again," Khan joked at a press conference.

"We are proud that we have discovered Berlin for Indians," the Bollywood star said, adding the city could supplant Paris and London as favourite European destinations.

The action thriller, which also showcases Indian stars Priyanka Chopra and Boman Irani, features famous Berlin landmarks - including a scene in which Khan appears to dive 125 metres from a building near Berlin's TV tower.

Unexpected help from actor S R K, says Mohan Murjani (Tommy Hilfiger) India,

Tommy Hilfiger has become one of the best selling international brands in India thanks to a little unexpected help from actor Shah Rukh Khan, says Mohan Murjani, who built the brand in the U.S. and brought it to India six years ago.

Some Indian consumers knew Tommy Hilfiger even before they knew Levis because they saw superstar SRK covered head to toe in Hilfiger in the 1998 mega hit “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.”

The romantic comedy — which was a defining moment for the Hindi film industry as it was director Karan Johar’s first – created millions of new Hilfiger fans and an untapped demand which the chairman of the Murjani Group has been riding ever since he brought the brand here in 2004.

Its bright shirts and jeans got all this attention without having to promote itself in Bollywood or even pay a penny for product placement, says Mr. Murjani.

“The (movie’s) stylist just loved Tommy Hilfiger. We couldn’t believe it when we saw it,” he told India Real Time. “Even before we launched in India it was on top of the list of brands to buy.”

Many foreign brands have complained that India is a tough market to crack. Not only has the government put restrictions on foreign ownership in retail but the Indian consumer has been much less likely to pay big bucks for the international names than in other markets like China.

Some retail brands have come to India and left and even homegrown stores are struggling. Mr. Murjani gave up the franchises of Gucci and Jimmy Choo in India when he realized he had overestimated demand for luxury goods.

Still, Indian sales at Tommy Hilfiger have been unstoppable, he says. His revenues have been rising 50% per year every year, even in 2008 and 2009 when almost everyone was struggling. Tommy clothes, perfume, watches and underwear can now be found at more than 1,000 different points of sale across the country.

“The consumer base is growing extremely rapidly, not only in terms of number of people but also in terms of the individual disposable income,” of the Hilfiger customer, he said. “It is really boom time.”

And he expects growth to continue at this pace as he brings the brand into smaller and smaller towns, wherever he can find Shah Rukh Khan wannabes.

SRK's "Om Shanti Om" is best film, (Raj, Pablo)The BBC Asian Network,

Raj and Pablo have said that Om Shanti Om is the best introduction to Indian cinema.

The BBC Asian Network presenters claimed that the 2007 production starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone is the most accessible film for new Bollywood fans.

The duo have recently collaborated on Love Bollywood, a compilation album featuring a range of popular tracks from Hindi film.

Love Bollywood will be released in the UK and Ireland on October 25.

"Don is a beautiful killer" SRK

Shah Shahrukh has revealed that his title character in Don 2 is not a "typical gangster".

The actor is currently on a promotional tour with co-star Priyanka Chopra and director Farhan Akhtar.

According to a report in Bolly Spice, Shahrukh told journalists in Berlin: "Don is very, very beautiful behind the dark, mean exterior and you just have to get to know him.

"Whether it is having a drink, whether it is having the girl, whether it is having a walk or a drive on a Berlin bus, he enjoys and takes pleasure in everything."

Khan also professed his love of the German city, where the film's chase sequence is shot.

SRK’s accident on sets of Don 2

Like all heroes, Shah Rukh Khan too likes to do his own stunts. Especially when he is trying to do. Apparently, Shah Rukh, who successfully managed to jump off a high rise, had an accident in Berlin, while shooting a wild action sequence for Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2.

Our source from the sets said, “It was a car chase sequence where SRK had to drive the car with Priyanka sitting next to him. It was the body double of the actress while SRK was driving. However, the car went out of control and rammed straight into the camera, destroying it completely. Thankfully, no one was injured and a big mishap was averted. But, the broken camera resulted in losses worth lakhs. A gracious SRK immediately came out of the car and apologised to everyone around including Farhan. He also volunteered to pay for all the damages incurred. Then he thanked everyone around and God that he was not injured. Farhan called for a break to let everyone’s nerves settle down before resuming shooting.”

It is ironic that this accident should happen because SRK had posted pictures of himself jumping off the high rise a few days ago on Twitter. Shaayad kisiki nazar lag gayi, what say Shah Rukh?

Farhan Akhtar brings Bollywood to Berlin

(Reuters Life!) - Bollywood's favourite film stars, Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra, have arrived in Berlin along with 70 co-actors and behind-the-scenes helpers from India to begin shooting their latest movie, "Don 2".

"It's a Bollywood version of Bond," the producers of the first major Indo- German film collaboration since 1925 said in a statement. "But Bond is the bad guy and his name is Don!"

The film to be directed by Farhan Akhtar -- full title "Don 2 - The Chase Continues" -- will be an action-packed sequel to the 2006 blockbuster "Don: The Chase Begins Again", which was a remake of the 1978 Indian cult film "Don".

Khan, more popularly known as "King Khan", is back as Don, "the smartest, smoothest gangster in the Asian drug world ... criminal but good-hearted and a heart-breaker", according to producers.

The Bollywood heartthrob, who was ranked among the world's 50 most important people by Newsweek magazine and voted Asian Hero by Time, said his character was "very beautiful behind the dark exterior ... He's not a typical gangster."

Director Akhtar said he was inspired to make the film in Berlin when he visited with his family three years ago, although he had not given much thought to the script at that stage.

"When I was here, I was very taken by the architecture of the city. It is a city that represented to me a new world," he said at a press conference in Berlin on Friday.

For him, producing a Bollywood film in the German capital was a "great way to showcase this city to an Indian audience".

German producer Mathias Schwerbrock, who founded Film Base Berlin and is co-producing Don 2 with Bollywood's Ritesh Sidhwani, said the film would be seen by 500 million in India.

"This is something special for a German producer," he said. "I'm happy that Bollywood came to Berlin," he added.

Some of Berlin's most famous tourist attractions such as the Brandenburg Gate, the East Side Gallery -- a painted section of the Berlin Wall -- and the Olympic Stadium which Hitler had built for the 1936 Summer Olympics will form a background for the star-studded movie with a budget of 12 million euros ($16.70 million).

Akhtar said that the western filming location did not mean that Don 2 would become the "Diet Coke" of Hindi films, a kind of "Bollywood Light", but that it would be a full-on, all-singing, all-dancing "big mainstream Bollywood movie".

Nevertheless, Khan said the whole cast saw Berlin as "a character of the film".

The actor, who has won 14 Filmfare awards to date, said film played an important role in Indian culture and that "a lot of it is done with wanting to reach the places" in the films. Hence his conviction "Don 2" will lead to an influx of Indian tourists in the German capital.

"You don't know what you've got yourselves into", he told journalists. "We'll take over Berlin."

German investors, who include Berlin's airports and the several tourist companies, have pledged a total of one million euros for the film in the hope that the blockbuster will put Berlin on the map for Indians.

Burkhard Kieker, Chief Executive Officer of visitBerlin, a tourist marketing company, said: "DON-2 will be our advertising campaign for India."

Producer Ritesh Sidhwani said the Hindi version of the film was scheduled for release in December 2011. It has not yet been decided whether the dubbed German version will be released then or at the Berlin International Film Festival in February 2012.

Gauri's plan for SRK's B'day

Twenty years ago, on 25th October a superstar jodi was made. As we all know Shahrukh was so madly in love with Gauri that he lied to her parents about his religion and married her. However, now when the duo will complete 20 years of togetherness, SRK will not be with Gauri. May be this is the price one pays to be superstar!

He will be in Berlin for the shootings of Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2 along with co-star Priyanka Chopra. Later, SRK will go to Rome for a special screening of his KJo film ‘My Name Is Khan’ at the Rome film festival and from there he will fly back to Berlin to celebrate his B’day with the team of Don 2.

Gauri will also join him there on his B’day that is on 2nd of November. Although he will be working on his B’day too, the presence of family and friend Karan Johar around will pep up the star.

Hrithik, SRK bond in Berlin

Hrithik Roshan- Shah Rukh Khan bond gets stronger each day.

One hears that Duggu may be travelling to Berlin to catch up with his good friend SRK at the month end. Duggu is very much at home with the Don2 unit who are stationed in Berlin, since he is also working with Farhan Akhtar and company in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. From the looks of it, SRK's bash in Berlin may turn out to be a very special affair, what with Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, Hrithik Roshan and others joining in the revelry.

SRK alone on 20th wedding anniversary!

October 25 marks 20 years of matrimonial union for Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan, but SRK will be alone in Berlin (he's there to shoot for Farhan Akhtar's 'Don 2') while wife Gauri will be in Mumbai on the special day. As they compromise on this milestone celebration, Gauri plans to make up for it on the Badshah's birthday — November 2.

"Even his birthday isn't totally devoid of work. There's nothing unusual about that. He's going to be in Rome for the screening of 'My Name Is Khan' at the international film festival there. But I'm sure his family will ensure that they make it special for him. Gauri and the kids are going to be flying down to Italy. Even Karan Johar, who is flying there for the screening, will contribute to the celebrations. The gang will then go to Berlin, where Gauri and Karan are planning to throw a party. Not many of the film fraternity would be there. So it'll be a comparatively quiet celebration with family, Karan, the cast and crew of Don 2," says a close friend of the actor's, who is speculating that there'll be a big bash with much fanfare when SRK returns to Mumbai.

Three cheers for the Khan who'll turn another year older soon, complete 20 years of marriage and sees his film MNIK release in all theatres across Italy - a first for any Hindi movie!

Bollywood fans descend on Berlin for SRK & Priyanka shoot,

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who is shooting the much-hyped sequel of his 2006 hit Don, says he is so in love with the city that if told he would not mind dancing on top of a tourist bus.

Khan, who plays a dreaded don in the Farhan Akhtar directed movie, said the idea to shoot Don in Berlin came while he was visiting the city during the 2008 film festival.

"I am just happy to be in Berlin. I love it. If you told me to stand up on a tourist bus and dance, I would do it," Khan told reporters at a press conference even as several hundred of his fans camped outside the Friedrichstadt Palace there to get a glimpse of the star.

"It is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever see... I have been here for two weeks and I don't feel I am working," he added.

The 44-year-old actor enjoys a huge fan following in the German public, especially women who travel around the globe to see him.

Khan alongwith Bollywood beauties Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta will be busy finishing a major chunk of the movie. The actor will also celebrate his birthday here on November 2. His wife Gauri and kids are set to join him for the celebrations.

Akhtar, who returns behind the camera after a short stint as an actor in films like 'Rock On!', 'Lucky By Chance' and 'Karthik Calling Karthik', said he was impressed by city's diversity in architecture, cinematography, music and the people.

A 70-member crew from India is in the city and they are all set to kickstart the shooting after a two-week preparation. The film will be shot at city's prime locations like Brandenburg Gate, the Olympia Stadium, The Gandarmen Market and the East Side Gallery.

The country hopes that Shah Rukh Khan's presence will lure other Bollywood filmmakers and tourists to Germany.

'Don 2' is also getting financial support from the media board Berlin-Brandenburg, a state owned organisation and the German Film Promotion Fund.

A Roman holiday for SRK and family

Two days before his birthday, SRK will fly to Rome for a special screening of My Name Is Khan (MNIK) at the international film festival being held in the Italian capital. His wife Gauri and children Aryan and Suhana, as well as friend Karan Johar will join him there.

On a break
While Shah Rukh has requested a three-day break from his producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar to visit Rome for the film festival and celebrate his birthday with his family, KJo is taking a short break from shooting his TV show Koffee With Karan 3 to be there. SRK & his fashion

On men's clothing
'I really believe men don't have much choice. What's there apart from T-shirts, jeans, pants and shoes? Even as far as accessories are concerned, men should only wear a watch, and maybe a ring. Don't adorn yourself. I'm not too metrosexual about dressing up. I don't like the idea of thinking, 'What should I wear at that party tomorrow?'

On his fashion quotient
I'm not a very fashionable person. I believe that fashion isn't about looks, but about being able to look after yourself physically. I'm 45 now, but people tell me that I have the body of a 17-year-old. So if I look after myself, whatever I wear will look kind of nice on me.

Mostly, I don't choose what I wear. I let the designers choose, because they know what suits me better than I do. I don't even do trials. My favourite designer Naresh, who's been designing for me for 20 years now, says he's done only three trials of mine so far. And my designers have always given me the creative freedom to wear clothes the way I want to.

On his comfort clothing
I honestly believe that you can lead your whole life wearing a t-shirt and jeans — you don't need anything more than that. And a black suit with a white shirt. Yes, you should have variation in your wardrobe, but if it were up to me, I'd always choose a black suit with a white shirt! Even in my films, I make it a point to see that the clothes aren't too proper, because I don't choose my clothes at night before sleeping. I just pick something from my wardrobe half-an-hour before I leave home.'

On filmi fashion
For films, my take on style is, 'Don't take me out of the character'. Even when I'm shooting songs, the clothes have to be in sync with who the character is. He can't suddenly change into something else for a song! I tell my designers, 'Don't make me wear something fashionable. Make me wear something that will become fashionable after the film.'

SRK's Fashion Don'ts
I'm not much of a clothes person, despite being the Belmonte model. My designers know that I'm very careless with clothes. I hardly ever see the costumes before I reach the sets. I usually wear what they ask me to, but I still tell them to keep an alternate costume, just in case. For example, if I'm wearing a tuxedo, I'll tell them to keep an option for the shirt.

No drainpipes (skinny trousers or jeans): I have a motto — 'dead before drainpipes'. I'll never wear them.
Mismatched socks and shirts: I get disturbed if I don't have socks that match the colour of my shirt.

Ill-fitting jeans: I only wear one particular denim fit. I have 100 pairs of jeans in that precise fitting. So if someone tells me my character in the movie wears jeans of a different fit, I will not do that movie!
No boots: I personally don't like wearing boots — I prefer sneakers or shoes. But if the character requires boots, I don't mind.
No churidaars: In films, I never wear churidaars. Instead, I wear salwars. But again, if they tell me to wear it, as a last option, I will.

Shahrukh Khan Caught In The Jittery Road For ‘Don 2’

Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta have finally met in Berlin, and how! Recently, Priyanka Chopra, the hot sexy gal of B town, touched Berlin and landed bang on to the sets of Ritesh Sidhwani's 'Don 2',directed by Farhan Akhtar, where the rest of the cast and crew had already assembled much before.

Reportedly, the two hotties, Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta hardly could be called friends at the moment, as the fact is that as Priyanka walked in to the sets of the film, both of them just barely managed to exchange a thin line, that could be given an award for the frostiest smiles ever, and then Priyanka moved on to gel with the other members of the cast and crew, and greeted Shahrukh Khan with the friendliest warmest greeting!

Well, so to speak, Lara had reached Berlin, where the shoot is taking place a week before and thus she seemed quite comfortable with the members of the film unit, however, Priyanka, who had to stay back in Mumbai due to an ad shoot, was a tad bit late in joining them.
However, since Lara and Priyanka have met after a gap of almost eight years(they had worked in 'Andaaz' together in 2002,being a debut film for both of them),both were slightly awkward in their stance, but hope fully they do start gelling well as time passes.

But, the question is, how on earth will Shahrukh manage the cold vibes between both his leading actresses? Gossip columns are rife with SRK being caught on the jittery road for 'Don 2', thanks to the two leading ladies!

But, let's hope SRK manages to create some sort of warmth with his cool dude attitude, and thus create an atmosphere of a happy ambience on the sets of 'Don 2',otherwise it will be difficult to decide which is more biting, the cold winds in Berlin, or the cold vibes flying between Priyanka and Lara?

SRK tourning forward to twentieth year of marriage with Gauri!

They make the most ideal husband-wife pair. The couple have a relationship that most can only dream of and it will now move into their twentieth year of marriage. Shah Rukh Khan is still a devoted husband, a fact known to one and all. Despite being in the film industry and surrounded by countless beautiful actresses and besotted fans (especially females!), SRK is the rarest of them all, having never even had a fling or even a rumor linking him to any of his co-stars, something which we cannot say about any other super stars of the film industry .

Die-hard fans of Shah Rukh Khan will know that this October the 25th, SRK will celebrate his nineteenth wedding anniversary to Gauri. The two got married on October 25th 1991 and so next October (2011) they will be completing twenty years of marriage. And what does the superstar feel about this?

According to media based sources, Shah Rukh Khan is really looking forward to his twentieth year of marriage but insists that since they have known each other for eight years before marriage so it will be nearly thirty years of knowing each other. Shah Rukh had a very good advice for couples saying that it's very easy to become a couple but very difficult to be one and that their married life is still as well as new because he and Gauri have been a couple instead of trying to become a couple.

Well, definitely SRK is an icon everyone can emulate in real life, an ideal husband, a caring father, a devoted friend, an outstanding actor and Bollywood's first truly global super star.

Aamir loyalist dedicates movie to SRK

Camps in Bollywood are common place. Salman's friends are not close to Shah Rukh Khan and vice versa. Any attempt by any member of such a camp to appease the rival star is seen as a turncoat. TOI has learnt of one such development that is raising eyebrows in tinseltown.

Kunal Kohli is known to be an Aamir loyalist and not particularly close to SRK. In fact, we know that the filmmaker hasn't even met King Khan in a couple of years. But suddenly, his forthcoming movie Break Ke Baad starring Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone, is looking like an unofficial tribute to SRK. Imran is not only mouthing dialogues and matching dance steps that we have seen SRK do and glide into the hearts of billions but Deepika (SRK's find for Om Shanti Om) is also trying to be like SRK in the movie. She even has a dialogue in which she declares that she is like SRK.

Curious, we called on Kunal to find out if he has switched sides. He says, "I know people are saying this because I'm Aamir's friend. The film is about two people who grew up in the times of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dil Toh Pagal Hai and some of the memorable romances that SRK has given to the audiences. The characters are inspired by his movies. The film is a tribute to SRK no doubt, but I hope that people are not reading too much between the lines. I am not trying to do a movie with SRK as of now. If the industry is gossiping that I'm trying to win SRK to my side with this movie, I haven't met him in a long time now."

SRK plays cool customer

New York-based designer styles SRK's jacket-n-scarves look for the actor's Don 2 Berlin schedule,

Shah Rukh Khan will be in Berlin for two months shooting Farhan Akhtar's Don 2.

The sequel is already underway with Kunal Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta already in the German capital. The first schedule involves action scenes and car chases.

Sources reveal that SRK's look in the film will have lots of jackets, scarves and stylish accessories. New York-based designer Jaimal Odedra has done his styling for the film.

"The temperature in Berlin is freezing and the crew has been wrapping most of the outdoor scenes during daylight. Also heavy rains over the weekend forced the crew to cancel their shoot on Saturday.

Recently Shah Rukh shot for an extraordinary action scene where he jumped 300 feet from a high-rise building using a harness.

The source adds that apart from Khan, Lara and Priyanka will also be seen performing action scenes.

SRK's philanthropic work

If you must do philanthropy, then do it like Shah Rukh Khan. The Bollywood Badshah recently helped out debutant filmmaker Shailja Gupta by silently funding the entire post-production of her film Walkaway that apparently ran into crores.

BT has learned that the director was in dire straits without any money to fund her post-shooting work. Having done a project with Shah Rukh when he was in the US, Shailja decided to ask him for help. What she didn't expect was SRK would invite her to Mumbai and open the doors of his home production office for free so that she could finish her movie. Shailja stayed in the city for a couple of months, worked inside SRK's office with full support from the actor's team. She is now creating waves in America with her debut movie that is set to show at all major film festivals.

"I thought my film would never see the light of the day," said Shailja. "I had no clue how to go about making a film and the budget naturally went out of control. I was devastated thinking that all my hard work was ruined. But then SRK gave me a helping hand." An official from SRK's side confirmed this development but the actor, who has never ever spoken about his philanthropic work, remained silent.

Berlin Delhikatessen

Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan will be prosecuted in the city of fans. But what can the 2500 Indians who live here?

On Tuesday they were on the Alexanderplatz, looking at the sky. What happened on the roof of the Park Inn hotel was hard to see. But the fans and spectators it was enough to know that Shah Rukh Khan was up there to film a scene for his film. In the hope of a short meeting with the star they were waiting in part of several hours.

For a week Shah Rukh Khan is in Berlin and put the city in a middle state of emergency. Result is the actor to turn his film 'Don 2', by December he will stay. Via Twitter Khan fans around the world can share in his residence. After the Park-Inn-scene, he presented a shaky mobile phone photo of Alex on the Internet. The first entry he had written shortly after his arrival in Berlin. good to see it in the day time. "

The fascination for India and its culture is not new. In the 20's was producer Joe May for Woltersdorf build two Hindu temples to rotate parts of the films "The Indian Tomb" and "The Tiger of Bengal". In Weissensee in 1985, renamed in memory of Indira Gandhi, the former Lichtenberger road to the politician. In addition, there are several yoga studios and Ayurvedic salons, which can be treated according to Berlin stressed traditional Indian medicine. N

Some stereotypes meet then. Others do not, says Sanjay Shihora, 42 For example, the notion that Indian women enjoy wearing gold jewelry lots. "What's wrong But we like colorful clothing." Shihora itself preferably wild patterned shirts, sometimes he wears a red turban, at least on stage. He is Germany's only Indian comedian and founder of "Comedy Club Kookaburra". 19 years ago he came to town, because of love. In Paris he met his future wife, a native Berliner, in tenth generation. The question of the common center of life stood as the first place.

The settling in the city fell, thanks to the support of his wife is not difficult. Difficulties only when Shihoras family was the first time came to Berlin. "We have no privacy, a home is equally accessible for everyone." The fact that it is a sign in Germany does not of curiosity but of incivility, to evaluate cabinet contents of hosts, he had to explain to his parents first. Meanwhile, they have become accustomed. Presumably it has to do with the serenity, the Indians commonly known. "If the car again 15 minutes late, we drink tea, the Germans write a letter of complaint," says Shihora.

From the hype surrounding Shah Rukh Khan's visit to Berlin can impress Sanjay Shihora little, he is busy preparing for his stage performances. Tonight he will be on the stage of the Kookaburra Club in the Schönhauser Allee in Prenzlauer Berg. Aamir Khan Javid followed the shooting of the Bollywood stars, however with more interest. He would like to invite him to his restaurant - on 2 November, the actor 45, which would be a good opportunity. Only "Chicken Curry" would not be served, this dish is it not in India. That was about the same as the doner kebab, Javid says: The was invented in Berlin.

Berliner Delhikatessen

Den ersten Eintrag hatte er kurz nach seiner Ankunft verfasst: „in berlin. good to see it in the day time.“

Manche Klischees treffen also zu.

SRK will star in Dhoom3

No one makes a girl's heart beat faster than a bad boy. See how hot John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan looked in the Dhoom movies as villains. Both Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra looked rather dull in comparison. The duo is going to have to struggle to stand out in the next Dhoom flick cos everyone is talking about how SRK is going to play the next anti-hero. Apparently Yash Raj is in dire need of money and a hit film, so they went all out to woo Shah Rukh. Earlier there was talk that Aamir Khan might be roped in for the film, but now sources say SRK is the clear favourite for the role.

Along with the production house, its director Sanjay Gadhvi too is said to be cash strapped. After tasting success as an in-house director in YRF, Sanjay decided to break away and do his own thing. Sadly, none of his ventures after that clicked and he has not been able to start films on time after taking advances from some producers and corporate houses. So the man is now back in the YRF fold. I think Dhoom 3 will be a fab film as both producer and director will put in their best as their survival depends on this.

SRK enjoyed "Khichdi" The Movie

"Khichdi" - The Movie, the small film with a big smile has been a trail blazer of sorts.

Followed by its box-office success, this film has paved the way for TV shows to don the silver screen avatar, hence, opening new vistas for Indian cinema.

And though it was pitted against two giants, the film, produced by Hats Off Production and marketed and distributed by Fox Star Studios, managed to hold out on its own. The laugh riot was an instant hit with families.

Even Bollywood lapped it up. Shah Rukh Khan watched it with his family. Not only did he love the mannerisms of the characters, he also spoke about the benefits of a TV series becoming successful on big screen. Shahid Kapoor, meanwhile, was seen enjoying the film at the special screening. John Abraham, a big fan of the TV series, was happy with its filmi plans.

The film also got rave reviews from prominent comedy film directors like David Dhawan who felt that the film had punches galore which was the hallmark of any good comedy film. Even Narendra Modi, Chief Minister of Gujarat, gave a the film a thumbs up and has even requested the producers to make a sequel.

SRK jumps from the roof

The people on the Alex stared upward. At the Super Star. Some screamed when he suddenly fell from the sky. Apparently ...
On Tuesday were the spectacular shooting of Mr. Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan on (44) for the action-cracker "Don 2" in Berlin.
On the shooting schedule: a leap from the Park Inn Hotel! 125 meters in depth, on a steel cable construction. Nothing really special to make, but at selected weekends and bungee jumpers.
But this one is even now a 230 million dollar Mega Star!
To clock 13.21 peeked-Darling of India cinema for the first time over the railing. Looked down the camera crew ready to film the dangerous case. And more and more locals and tourists. Then he retired again.
Below impatient waiting. Above active preparations. After two and a half hours: finally, the jump!
But the tourists who had a camera with large zoom lens, could see it: not by a rope hanging Shah Rukh KhanBut a double. The actor was still standing on the roof.
A height (from) flight, he is probably better not dare ...
Since Sunday, the Indians turned in the capital. 50 days will be filmed at Berlin's most popular places such as East Side Gallery and the Cathedral. 3000 extras are available for the German-Indian co-production (550 000 € handling charges) before the camera. A film of superlatives.

SRK, Sallu are mature adults: Nikhil

Interview with TOI

Q. Much is being said about your shifting allegiance from SRK's camp to Salman's...

A, This kind of question makes me feel like a calculative, petty, scheming person who is changing camps. I'm not being diplomatic or politically correct. You think there's a camp? There's not. The proof is that I could go to Salman Khan's party, even though I am close to Shah Rukh Khan. I've interacted with Salman earlier and was even part of his Being Human show in Dubai. It's not that Shah Rukh has not spoken to me after that. Shah Rukh doesn't have a problem that I interact with Salman. Salman doesn't have a problem that I'm Shah Rukh's friend. He's always been affectionate towards me, encouraging me, which he doesn't need to. This is proof enough of the fact that I can mingle with whoever I want, have relationships with whoever I want as an adult.

Shah Rukh and Salman are two mature adults. They choose to disagree with each other. We should respect that and leave it at that. And this doesn't mean they hate each other or that they are sworn enemies. That's not what it looks like to us, people who are there. Shah Rukh, to his credit, has never said a bad thing about Salman to me.

Q. Has he ever said a good thing about him?

A. He has said a lot of good things about Salman. I don't even know if I should be saying this because it is someone's private opinion. But Salman very recently told me that he disagrees with Shah Rukh, but he cannot deny the fact that even today he thinks of Shah Rukh as his younger brother. And I know Salman very well. He doesn't like... he might kill me for this... I don't think it's correct... he shared this in a private moment, but I'm saying this to make you understand these two individuals and their thought process.

I can tell you personally, doesn't Salman know I'm close to Shah Rukh and Shah Rukh's friend? Despite that, he chooses to encourage me and be affectionate towards me. It shows he's got a very big heart. Salman has a very intelligent man lurking inside him. You spend time with him, you learn a lot from him. There's so much; may be he's not the most articulate person. Maybe he puts things across very casually, as if he's just a college boy. But if you look deep into what he's saying, he says very strong things. If you can understand them and make use of them, you'll only grow stronger. So, any opportunity to spend time with them, with these accomplished people, is an opportunity which no newcomer should let go of.

Q. As a common friend, don't you ever feel caught in between?

A. They've never discussed this problem with us; at least I've never faced it. I discussed " Dabangg" with Shah Rukh recently and he liked it much more than I did. He said Salman's outstanding in the film. He doesn't have to lie to me. He could've said all bad things about the film and the actor. He analyzed it in terms of story and script and why it has become such a big success. It shows that, sometimes, in our lives, we are not friendly with everybody. This doesn't make them bad people or us bad. Just that at times your thought processes don't match. But that doesn't mean that they are sworn enemies. Shah Rukh has never asked me to choose my friends. If I have a problem with a star, I'm not going to tell Shah Rukh not to talk to him.

Q. Surviving in Bollywood seems to be a complex art form, especially for outsiders. True?

A. It's not easy. This is an extraordinary profession because even the dividends are manifold. I don't know when the industry got divided into outsiders and insiders. The actors who I grew up watching... Dilip Kumar, Manoj Kumar, everyone struggled. Then, Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra struggled... right up to Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar. But, it all somewhere stopped then. We like to see children of icons succeed (like the Gandhis and Nehrus), and just like them we like to see children of stars succeed. Eventually it's business and producers in the business know this. The audience here has a curiosity to see a certain star's child – something that an outsider cannot generate. In 2007-2008, 22 actors made their debut. Out of them, I'm the only one who is not a TV actor, model or from a film family.

SRK starrer ‘Don 2’ gets 3 million Euros cover

SRK's much anticipated sequel 'Don 2' is enjoying a maximum rebate from the German Government.

According to a close hand the rebate is whooping 3 million euros for the Badshah of Bollywood starrer, as SRK is immensely popular in Germany and Europe. Germany now wants to make Bollywood as its prime choice and wants to win over its current favorites England, Switzerland in Europe.

The unit of Don 2 is in Berlin where the major chunk of the film will be canned. Lara Dutta has joined and Priyanka Chopra is likely to join shortly followed by the Badshah himself Shahrukh Khan.

After Ra.One, Akon's new album inspired by India

After singing for Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's movie 'Ra.One.', R&B superstar Akon has now come up with a new album inspired by his India experience.

After recording a Hindi song for the sci-fi film, the 'Lonely' hitmaker says that his new album will have Indian influences. "You start travelling, you start collaborating with different people and you start experiencing life bigger," said the Senegalese singer.

The singer says that his new album comprises of his established hip hop sound mixed with beats from various corners of the world.

"I am the kind of artist that creates my music on the basis of my experience. I'm always in Europe, always in Asia, always in India and this is the kind of music that I'm exposed to," said the singer.

SRK Jumps From 300-ft in Don 2: Exclusive Photo

Shah Rukh Khan jumped from the roof of the Park Inn Hotel on the Alexanderplatz in Berlin on the second day of filming of Don 2 in the city on October 12.

In this scene, Shahrukh Khan is being chased by gangsters and his only way out is to jump from the roof.

A stuntman jumped for him to begin with, for the long shots, before Shah Rukh made the plunge himself for a close up.

Despite the cables and pulleys that made the jump safe for Shah Rukh, the experience must have been both frightening and exhilarating for the 44-year-old actor, a consummate artiste and one of Bollywood's most popular stars.

Not many of us can even dare to look down from 30-ft, let alone jump from 300-ft.

Following the jump, Shah Rukh shared the experience with his Twitter fans.

"Just did a over 300 feet base jump for Don...cos u all make me believe i can fly. Time to tell kids about the birds and the bees...ha ha.

"my jump was last shot of day. want to thank my duplicate & action team, to do it before me for wide shots & make me feel confident about it."

SRK on Entertainment Weekly's Most Powerful List

Entertainment Weekly
has just released it's 50 Most Powerful Entertainers edition, which lists their picks for the top stars in 2010 in movies, television and music in the US. For the first time this year they also included a list of Stars Around the World. John Young wrote: "Hollywood celebrities are big everywhere of course, but each country has its own box office beauties. So who's the Angelina Jolie of Nigeria? The Johnny Depp of Bollywood? Here's what fame and fortune look like on foreign soil."

So, who is the Johnny Depp of Bollywood... None other than Shah Rukh Khan! About the star they wrote, "A megastar of Bollywood, Khan, 44, has headlined a parade of hits while winning 14 Filmfare Awards (India's Academy Awards)."

Also included on the list where Ricardo Darin from Argentina, Edgar Ramirez from Venezuela, Ayelet Zurer from Israel, Golshifteh Farahani from Iran, Donnie Yen from Hong Kong and the Angelina Jolie of Nigeria is Geneieve Nnaji.

SRK gets his Kamina

It promises to be quite a dashing combination of creativity and charisma: auteur Vishal Bhardwaj, still fresh from the cult adulation of Kaminey, has been signed on by SRK for his next feature after RA.One and Don2. The details of this SRK-Bhardwaj collaboration are being kept under wraps.

A source informed, "Vishal and SRK have been meeting regularly for some time now. SRK and Vishal both wanted to work with each other.

However in the past they had their share of differences and the project could not take off.

The patch-up happened some months back and after that they have had regular meetings.

However now it's official and SRK and Vishal have zeroed down on a film. SRK has been impressed by the work that Vishal has been doing in recent times.

Both of them have immense respect for each other and although the details of the script are not known, it is a film which will be based in a small town and have a mofussil feel to it."

The source further said, "Vishal had also said in an interview to a leading film magazine recently that he wants to work with SRK and it seems that his dream has been fulfilled. The film will start mid next year."

Guess Saif and Shahid's loss is SRK's gain. SRK and Vishal remained unavailable for comments. They must be busy bouncing ideas off one another. Incidentally, King Khan is also in talks with Vidhu Vinod Chopra productions.

Vishal's spokesperson said, "Vishal is in Pune with his son Aasman watching an India vs Vietnam football match. And I can't confirm anything right now." Love all, play!

It was 'We Are Family' time at KJo's show at HDIL Couture Week

Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan dazzled as the showstoppers for Karan Johar and Varun Bahl's show at the HDIL-India Couture Week in Mumbai, but it was Shah Rukh Khan who stole the show with his dimpled smile and spontaneous dancing.

With Big B and Hrithik walking down the ramp, the audience couldn't have asked for more, but there was a bonus.

As the two showstoppers - Amitabh Bachchan dressed in a black overcoat with aviators and Hrithik in a military jacket - came to take the final bow with the designers, Karan suggested that they get King Khan, who was sitting in the first row, on the ramp too.

So they walked back and Big B gave his hand to SRK, pulled him onto the ramp while the audience, which included a host of Bollywood celebrities, cheered and clapped seeing the three 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' stars walk together.

Then SRK broke into a jig and asked Amitabh and Hrithik to join in too.

It all ended with much male bonding as Shah Rukh hugged the Big B and Hrithik, wishing them "All the best".

The big stars on the ramp apart, Karan's show had a galaxy of celebrities in attendance - Preity Zinta, sisters Karishma and Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor with daughter Sonam, Rani Mukerji, Shah Rukh's wife Gauri, Hrithik's wife Suzzane, Urmila Matondkar, Raveena Tandon, Rahul Khanna, Dino Morea amongst many others.

The celeb quotient sure set the ball rolling for the designers.

Talking about the number of stars spotted during his show, Karan said: "The idea was to get people together with whom I connect personally. It was all about having friends and family supporting you."

The designers showcased a power-packed menswear range on the ramp.

B'wood’s billion dollar moment!

You could hear the kiss! It was so genuine... And you could feel the butterflies in your stomach when Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan kissed the Biggest Legend of all-time, Amitabh Bachchan.

And who was overseeing this? Hrithik Roshan — Hindi cinema's heir apparent. A billion hearts missed a beat at Karan Johar's and Varun Bahl's maginficent display of Victorian age fashion at the HDIL India Couture Week 2010 on Thursday night.

Amitabh apparently arrived three hours ahead to perfect his show-stopper act. A nervous Hrithik was said to be pacing backstage, practising his walk till the very last minute. And eyes misted over, whistles rent the air as Hrithik dressed in navy blue kicked off the high-life retail line of garments made from rich velvet mixes and lightweight wool. The garments, structured in a masculine sophisticated way, brought new meaning to the simple term style.

The colours of black, royal gold, mud brown, rich burgundy, navy blue and dark grey with intricate embroidery gave you the feeling of the 'Raj' but were equally contemporary.

The show belonged to the patriarch of Indian cinema. When the very lean Amitabh strode in with dark glasses, a scarf covering his neck, wearing a black long coat over grey trousers and actually glided on the ramp, the women (including daughter Shweta) went hysterical. An emotional Karan touched his feet and wiped a tear as he whispered, "Thank-you Amit Uncle for agreeing to do this for me." What was least expected was that Hrithik and the Big B would suddenly pull SRK on stage and break into a dance with him.

Says Karan, "Varun and I felt that if this line was to have true meaning, then we should have men like Amit uncle and Hrithik walk the ramp for us. The piece de resistance was the return of the K3G cast on the ramp. It was a blend of fashion and emotion in the house."

No Khan can shake up Rani & SRK

So what if the Rani Mukerji is spotted hobnobbing with the two Khans —Aamir and Salman — who make up B-town's most-talked about new camp.

About Aamir she's always said, "He is my guru." And although her screen pairing with Sallu didn't turn too many heads, she called Sallu, "The ultimate rockstar." So where does that leave SRK? Well, apparently, he's her friend, mentor and guide. Now that sums it all up, huh? With so many camp shifts happening in B-town (what with stars showing changing loyalties), everyone wondered where Queen Bee would land up.

After all, she was the only one who atleast seemed to be the favourite of all the Khans. Recently, at an event SRK and Rani met warmly, in fact, nothing seemed to have changed between the old buddies. They chatted, posed for the photogs, and that's not all. zoOm's Planet Bollywood team captured the chivalrous Khan as he walked Rani to her car, held the door till she stepped in and waved as she sped away. Looks like no other Khan can shake up this dosti. It's the true 'We Are Family' kinds, hai na?

No IPO plans for Red Chillies as of now: SRK

Bollywood actor-turned-producer Shah Rukh Khan on Wednesday said he has no plans to list his production and distribution company--Red Chillies Entertainment.

Red Chillies, an Indian motion picture production firm, was founded by Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan along with actress Juhi Chawla in 2002.

The company also has a visual effects studio known as Red Chillies VFX.

"I have no plans to come out with any IPO for Red Chillies. I have very less knowledge and experience of the stock market and investment unfortunately. I am happy my friends are here and feel good whenever a media company gets listed on the stock exchange," Shah Rukh Khan said at the listing ceremony of global distribution company Eros International.

King Khan, who reached late by 5 min, experienced the listing after the company and the host BSE literally turned back time for the superstar.

Red Chillies, which has produced some big-ticket movies such as Main Hoon Na, My Name Is Khan, Chak De India, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, Drona, Om Shanti Om, Dostana and Kurbaan, is currently a part of sci-fi thriller Ra One.

SRK to discuss his next project with Yash/Adi Chopra!

It's a known fact to all those who are interested in Bollywood happenings, and especially Shah Rukh Khan fans that the actor has gone very selective and has become extra choosy where it comes to signing new projects. At present he is very busy shooting for his home banner project, the highly ambitious SFX adventure, RA.ONE, which is progressing as per schedule, and the shooting part is expected to be complete by December. Concurrently, King Khan will start with his next project (later this week in Berlin), that is DON 2, to be directed by Farhan Akhtar. So, what's new in that? Well, hold on!

As per very reliable sources, Shah Rukh Khan has accepted that his all time favourite Yash uncle wants him to do a film, and his good friend and director of superhit films, DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYEINGE, MOHABBATEIN and RAB NE BANA DI JODI, Aditya Chopra had mentioned it to him, though no script has been finalized. He has tentatively decided to discuss the same with Yash and Aditya Chopra, in March-April next year.

However not restricting himself to working just with the Chopras, Shah Rukh Khan also disclosed that if any other filmmaker wants him to work in a light hearted romantic comedy or has a script which interests him, he will be willing to produce it.

Well, that is certainly good news for all who were missing the undisputed king of romance, Badshah Khan because when it comes to romance none can do it better than SRK.
