It’s business for Gauri & Sussanne

Two of Bollywood's A-list star wives might soon become partners in business. If all goes well Shah Rukh Khan's wife Gauri and Hrithik Roshan's wife Sussanne plan to start a new joint venture of designing homes.

Our source said, "Sussanne is all set to start her own one-stop shop for interior design in Andheri. Meanwhile Gauri Khan, who is rather close to her, has been planning to work along with Sussanne. Apparently, both of them have already designed the home of a major businessman."

The source further said, "The duo had first collaborated when Sussanne was designing Mannat and Gauri had given quite a few creative inputs.

On the other hand both SRK and Hrithik, who were once known to be major rivals, are now the best of friends and hang out at each others' homes.

SRK also loved Hrithik's performance in Guzaarish and had invited him over to his house where both of them were seen hanging out last week."

We sent a text message to Sussanne and Hrithik, who did not reply. Neither did Gauri's business manager.

Meanwhile Gauri Khan, who is rather close to her, has been planning to work along with Sussanne.

Saif's loss is Shah Rukh's gain!

Bet you didn't know this. And we wonder if Shah Rukh Khan knew it either. Rumour has it that Saif Ali Khan was the first choice of for hosting Wipeout, a water-based adventure sports show on television, not Shah Rukh Khan.

Wipeout is based on an American game show about various kinds of obstacle related to water and has so far been formatted for over 30 other countries. Now it's going to make its debut in India.

The Indian television industry people claim that the channel in question was speaking to Saif about this show for the longest time. Says a source, "However, Saif could not make up his mind. He was a bit skeptical about acting in a TV show."

So the channel complied with Saif's decision (indecision rather) and waited patiently for another host.

After sometime when the channel people realised that Saif did not seem very keen on the offer, they apparently spoke to SRK. Reveals the source, "Shah Rukh grabbed the opportunity. He loved the concept of the show."

The channel, we hear, is very happy that SRK is now hosting Wipeout. Adds the source, "SRK brings a lot of energy on the table. But the channel would definitely love to work with Saif in future."

Seemingly unaware, Samir Nair, the channel's head honcho, says, "Really? I don't know about this."

As a part of the show, the contestants will fly to Argentina to shoot for it. Grapevine has it that most of the participants on Wipeout are from Fear Factor and Bigg Boss. And that TV personalities like Vindoo Dara Singh, Narayani Shastri, Gaurav Chopra, Claudia and Karishma Baktiyaar amongst others have been asked to participate in the show.

Will SRK & Kjo ever forgive Arjun?

Despite SRK's and Karan Johar's six-year-long war with Pritish Nandy Communications, Arjun Rampal chooses to sign Rongita Nandy's next.

This could well be out of the Mahabharata, where Arjun went against his own brothers, the Kauravas. Recently, Arjun Rampal signed his next with Pritish Nandy's older son, Kushan Nandy, a film that will be made under the Pritish Nandy Communications (PNC) banner.

On the surface, this may seem like any other piece of news but it isn't. Arjun may argue that he was being professional in signing the project but his best buds Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar may not buy into that. For the past six years KJo and SRK have been at loggerheads with PNC.

That after so many years Arjun would go against his friends and sign a film with PNC comes as a huge shock to everyone connected with the SRK camp.

Reportedly, in 2004 during the private screening of one of PNC's films, Shabd, Gauri Khan and Karan Johar came to watch the film with a friend. Pritish Nandy's daughter Rongita Nandy had produced the film and she asked Gauri and KJo to leave. KJo, Gauri and later Shah Rukh were very upset with this treatment. They decided never to attend an awards ceremony that PNC used to host every year.

Our source says, "When the entire SRK clan banned the awards ceremony a lot of A-listers also abandoned the awards. As a result the ceremony eventually got cancelled.

This had colossal ramifications because gradually, most actors began refusing films under the PNC banner. Arjun is the first one to break this so-called rule."

Grapevine has it that Arjun was paid a very large sum for this film. While the actor refused to comment, a close friend of his said, "Arjun is not even aware of any problems between Karan, SRK and PNC. Arjun is sure that no one will hold grudges against him, especially because the so-called issue is over six years old. Arjun and SRK are still the best of friends, contrary to rumours about their fallout. Arjun loved the script of this film and is working in it. There are no two ways about it."

When contacted, Rongita Nandy said, "Yes, we are doing a film with Arjun and it starts this month. However, we are not giving out any details at the moment and we will make an official announcement soon."

You might want to tread carefully, Arjun. They say the film is a horror.

SRK's Bangladeshi Tussaud's left disappointed

Two busts of King Khan, made by two impoverished Bangladeshi brothers, were meant to be auctioned to fund their education. But the brothers were left high and dry

Shah Rukh Khan was in Dhaka performing in front of live audience on December 10.

Apart from winning hearts and more fans in Bangladesh, King Khan took home two handmade sculptures of his face as gifts. These were supposed to be auctioned to collect money for the poor boys who made them.

The two sculptures was made by two poor rural students, Shusen (17) and Shamon (18) in Bangladesh and these were supposed to be auctioned by SRK. The entire money was to be donated for the education of these two brothers.

The day of the event though turned out to be a disappointment for both the boys who were waiting in the green-room for hours hoping that King Khan will do something in their favour and auction the sculptures. It turns out that SRK was not informed of this so-called auction and instead took both the sculptures with him as a gift! The event organizer also did not pay anything to the boys either.

When contacted, Shapan Chowdhury, the chairman of the event management firm in Dhaka, said, "Yes, both the sculptures were made by Shusen and Shamon and were supposed to be auctioned but due to time constraint we could not do carry out the auction. The sculptures now have been gifted."

Was SRK informed that they were supposed to be auctioned and that the money from this was to be given to the poor boys who made them? He clarified, "No, we couldn't give him details. But now I will give some amount of money to the boys."

SRK managed in China with MNIK

Karan Johar's My Name is Khan is the first Bollywood film to release in China in the last three decades.

And the only reason why this happened is because of Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan's immense popularity in that country. Everyone knows that despite the changing scenario in the home market, SRK continues to remain Bollywood's biggest export. His draw in countries like UK, Germany, parts of Europe, China and the entire Far East is still bigger than that of any other Bollywood actor.

MNIK also has successfully managed the deferred release experiment. Starting February 2010 to December 2010 this film has found markets for itself around the world, paving the way for others from Bollywood.

King Khan apologises to 'frenemies'

Seems like SRK wants all his friends back! In a candid confession on Karan Johar's Koffee with Karan, the actor for the first time accepted that "if Farah, Salman were not talking to him, it was probably his fault". While this season's Koffee with Karan is in news for caustic
comments made by people in the entertainment industry, SRK who made a solo appearance on the show took it as an opportunity to convey to his 'frenemies' that he was more than willing to bury the hatchet.

It may be recalled that SRK has been losing friends since a long time, and is now left with very few of them. A spat with Salman on Katrina's birthday has left Salman still fuming. His relations also soured with friend Farah over Tees Maar Khan.

A source informs Mumbai Mirror, "Shah Rukh said that if they weren't talking to him, it could probably be his fault."

The statement has shocked the channel officials and other people associated with the programmed. Has it shocked you?

SRK plans film with '3 Idiots' director

Actor-producer Shah Rukh Khan has a history with '3 Idiots' director Rajkumar Hirani. Raju was to make a film for Shah Rukh's production house and was even to star in '3 Idiots' but things didn't work out. However, only recently Raju directed Shah Rukh in an ad for a fairness cream.

"Though Shah Rukh is back in Berlin shooting for Don 2, Raju and SRK, whilst shooting the ad commercial spoke about doing a movie together," said a unit member. "Raju is working on a couple of scripts, and SRK is planning to meet with him once Don 2 and Ra One are completed. They both seem to be keen to work together, and are quite adamant on making that happen," we are told. "It'll most probably a light-hearted entertainer, something that seems to be becoming Raju's forte."

Earlier, SRK wished to produce '3 Idiots' but with Hirani working for VV Chopra's banner complications arose. Let's hope next time, the plans are well thought out and no such controversy erupts to disrupt things for a second time.

SRK turns Priyanka's tutor

Priyanka Chopra decided to give Shah Rukh Khan a surprise visit at a studio in Mumbai where he was recording the promo of his forthcoming reality TV show.

TOI spotted the sexy actress arrive at the location in her lavish car and head straight into the sets where she greeted SRK. King Khan looked pleasantly surprised to see Priyanka, who has been a close friend and industry ally of the superstar for years now. SRK escorted Priyanka to his plush custom-made vanity van where the two spent at least half an hour bonding with each other. Post that Priyanka came out of the van and flaunted her camera to the superstar.

We also saw SRK tutor the svelte siren with photography tricks. The actor taught Priyanka how to get the perfect frame and some other tricks with the slick machine. Priyanka was an obedient learner as she quickly tried her hands at what SRK taught her. For half an hour, Shah Rukh taught Priyanka several things about the camera post which a visibly satisfied Priyanka bid adieu to her friend.

Gauri wants Koffee With Karan's couch.

After the current season of Koffee With Karan wraps up, the couch on which the stars sit will be packed off to Mannat. Gauri apparently had expressed a desire to own some memorabilia from the starry chat show!
Psssst...the furniture on Karan Johar's show is from Louis Vuitton.

Autograph for SRK
Bengali actor Prosenjit whose film Autograph has been well-received has stated that Shah Rukh Khan has expressed a desire to star in the Hindi remake of the Bengali film. "Shah Rukh Khan is a star but he is an actor too," feels Prosenjit.

Juhi to host Wife Swap?
Juhi Chawla is being considered as a host for Wife Swap, the desi version of the international reality show being produced by UTV, which will air on Sony early next year. The show takes a look at families, usually from vastly different lifestyles, swap wives/mothers -- but they do not share a bed with the swapped spouse.

Stallone, SRK to come together.

Ok, now for some hot gupshup doing the rounds... There was news that after Pamela Anderson, production house Endemol was all set to bring in Sylvester Stallone as the next celebrity guest. Well, as of now, the Bigg Boss inmates don't seem to be getting second time lucky.

In fact, a source tells us that international film actor Sly will instead be seen on the Indian version of 'Wipe Out' - again produced by Endemol – a reality show that will be hosted by popular actor Shah Rukh Khan!

If the above is true, it'll be interesting to see SRK and Stallone bond together. After all, Stallone has had a taste of Bollywood when he appeared in the Akshay Kumar-Kareena Kapoor starrer Kambakht Ishq. Now let him get a feel of Indian television!
