Disappointed with her IPL team, Preity Zinta feels glad for SRK’s KKR

he Indian Premier League has so many Bollywood celebrities involved with it. Bollywood actress Preity Zinta’s team Kings IX Punjab has failed very badly in the league this season that has disappointed the actress a lot.

The day when Preity’s team lost the game by nine wickets against Shilpa Shetty’s Rajasthan Royals, SRK’s team had won by 14 runs against Delhi Daredevils. But being a good friend of shah rah khan, she dint feel awkward to applaud the win of his team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Preity tweeted on her page, “Big hug to all and am so happy for SRK because of KKR win… lots of love.”

Kolkata Knight Riders holds the sixth position among the 8 teams while Kings IX Punjab is set back at the last position.

Its KKR for Sameera at IPL

The Knights’ prestige and honour was at stake. But their armour continued to shine on brightly under the Eden lights on Wednesday.

For starters, the Devils were well-equipped to conquer their kingdom. But in came Dinda. David Warner, the man who had given SRK’s team a tough time, when the two teams crossed swords, was consumed in the very first over. Ashok Dinda was firing all cylinders. The moment he uprooted Warner’s wicket, the crowd erupted, albeit in its half strength, courtesy the missing stands.

With the super hospitality box lacking its usual lustre (read SRK and Juhi), it was up to Sameera Reddy to add that much-needed glamorous touch. But with King Khan missing from the stand, the action in the middle held centrestage. There were apprehensions, and rightly so, whether the Knights will be able to keep their semi-final hopes alive. The chances looked bleak with Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and Dinesh Karthik holding fort for the Devils.

But then, Lady Luck had decided to smile on Dada. He held the reins with a 46-ball 56, a crucial run out and a clever change of bowling. Even the Team Delhi captain, Gambhir, was all praise for Sourav, whose direct throw found Gambhir short of his crease. “Yes, my run out was crucial. It was the turning point of the match,” he said at the press con, later. But all that he said, and everybody else, got drowned in the euphoric Korbo, lorbo, jitbo re...

Shah Rukh Khan kneejerk reaction may postpone RA 1 shoot!!

Shah Rukh Khan starrer superhero flick 'Ra 1', which is being directed by Anubhav Sinha and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment may face trouble in its next spell of shooting due to troubled knee of King Khan.

Sources close to Shah Rukh Khan say that this time King Khan is in no mood to take risk with his health by performing high voltage action sequences for the film without being fully fit as declared by doctors. In fact, Shah Rukh Khan has already consulted renowned therapist Andrew Leipus in this regard and has been undergoing exercise and medication.

But as the knee problem comes every now and then, Shah Rukh Khan is keeping his fingers crossed about the next spell of shooting for 'Ra 1', which also needs the corresponding dates of sizzling hot size zero sexy diva Kareena Kapoor, as she enacts the character of his wife in the film.

As the film 'Ra 1' requires Shah Rukh Khan to fly in the sky and do other stunts after donning his superhero suit especially made for the purpose, it would not be feasible for him to go for the shoot without being completely cured of his knee problem.

'Ra 1' is one of the most ambitious projects of Shah Rukh Khan, wherein he will be donning for the first time role of a superhero in his bollywood career. The film requires high quality of special effects and other technological support from the highly skilled technicians. King Khan has already told his team members to watch big Hollywood flicks like 'Avatar', 'Star Wars', etc, to get inspiration from them.

Kareena Kapoor plays the part of a homemaker to her scientist husband (SRK) in the film. She is also mother of an eight year old son. However, this all does not prevent her from donning her glam avatar, and in fact, she will be a yummy mummy in the flick. As the film is based in London, Kareena's modern avatar perfectly gels with the storyline.

Leave SRK alone: Sameera

Sameera Reddy talks about her loyalties towards team owners, SRK’s lessons on the importance of failure,

With so many friends who own teams, you must be in a dilemma over which team to support during the matches...
Absolutely. This IPL, it’s been pretty hectic for me since there are so many members in all the teams whom I know so well. Dr Vijay Mallya, the owner of Team Bangalore, is related to my mother. I want to cheer for Team Chennai since Chennai is like my second home now. I am doing a lot of Tamil movies there and the South is a big market for me. Besides, Shilpa, Shamita and Raj are also very dear to me. They are great friends. In that sense, I am close to Team Jaipur. And then, there is Shah Rukh and Juhi. It’s been a tough time for Shah Rukh and Juhi and that’s the reason I decided to come down to Kolkata to cheer them on. I’m happy to be back in Kolkata. Now that I’ve become a vegetarian, I will really miss my rui machher jhol during this trip.

But what did you do when Team Jaipur played against Team Chennai? Where did your loyalties lie then?
I don’t go for such matches when two teams, whose owners I know so well, are playing against each other. Obviously, it’s difficult for me to take sides if I am at the stadium. During such matches, I stay back at home and just say may the best team win.

SRK has got into another controversy with his tweets regarding him wanting to dance naked in the stadium should his team win...
He was saying all that in jest. The intention was to lighten the situation. One has to understand his sense of humour and not jump to conclusions. I think one should leave SRK alone.

Have you ever seen a despondent SRK?
During the first IPL, I had taken a flight back home with Shah Rukh. It was during our conversation that he made me realise how failure is an important part of our growing process. That discussion changed my vision about life. It’s important to see life from the other side of the fence too. Today, I realise, that my identity is not limited to just the job I do. Somewhere, I live a life beyond the adulation that my career brings along. I’m just a sister and a daughter too. I need to have clarity to understand the priorities of life.

SRK gets Pain in his knee

Bollywood superstar Shahrukh khan’s health has not been so good from past few years. First it was his severe back pain then he had a shoulder surgery and now it comes a knee pain for SRK.

Some time back the actor had a knee injury that is troubling him till now. But it is a crucial time for his IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders and he doesn’t want to take any risk. The physiotherapist Andrew Leipus has been appointed to treat SRK’s knee. Previously the physiotherapist Ali Irani was given the responsibility to treat his knee.

A source reveals, “SRK is doing some high energy stunts in his home production Ra.One that will be on screen soon. The last two days of the shoot were cancelled because of Bobby Chawla’s (CEO of SRK’s Red Chillies) health scare. The next schedule of Ra.One is drawing near and SRK hopes the exercises Andrew has prescribed will fix his knee problem in time.”

It adds, “Ra.One is a superhero film and Shah Rukh’s character will have to do several high risk stunts and he really needs to be physically fit to pull them off.”

SRK to dub MNIK in English

Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar’s My Name is Khan is on a roll. The film that has reportedly touched the life of scores of people across the globe, plans to continue with its winning streak overseas.

The original Hindi version is the No.1 grosser in the UK and it has also broken several records in the regular diaspora markets across the US. Now, Karan and Fox Star Studios will release a re-edited, two-hour long version (that’s minus 45 minutes!) in 25 countries like Germany, Poland and France between April and June, with SRK dubbing his lines in English.

Karan says, “Right from the beginning we had plans to release a fresh cut meant mainly for the non-diaspora markets in North America, Russia and certain parts of Europe. We will have a platform release in the art-house circuit. MNIK is the first global movie with the ethos meant for a world audience and Phase II was designed to take it to markets where no Bollywood film has ever been.’’

In Indonesia, the film is said to have broken records of all previous Hindi movies with a box office of 1.5 million USD. And the local distributor Harris Lasmana says, “My Name is Khan has appealed to the Indonesian audience, where Islam is followed by the majority of the population. Moreover, the film reviews have been excellent.’

Delirious with the praise that has been coming his way from across the globe, Karan says, “It’s humbling and heartening at the same time to hear from people almost every single day as to how MNIK has touched their lives in so many ways. It has empowered SRK and me to continue with releasing this film in markets where Bollywood has never had a presence. The cumulative gross of MNIK makes it SRK’s biggest hit overseas.’’

Speaking of the accolades that have come to SRK for his outstanding performance as Rehan Khan in MNIK, Karan says, “It is and will remain one of SRK’s most special and memorable performances. And, I’m happy that I made this film for him and with him. You have no idea how encouraging the feedback on the film has been.’’

SRK- Stylish Rocking Knight

The Knights gathered at Dublin on Sunday for the Nokia after-party, where they got N97 touch phones from the sponsor and a peptalk from the boss. t2 was there, of course,
Shashi Tharoor is a politician so there are not so many interesting topics. Also, he doesn’t talk to his wife on Twitter so I am better (twitterer).

When Chris Gayle was born, it must have taken very long for him to be delivered. Doctor must have said: Aadha aa gaya, aadha baki hai! Chris Gayle brings spirituality to the team. I saw him meditating on a manicure-pedicure chair with seven women around him, chanting Om…

I tell the director what expressions I will show and how I will emote. But for the other actors, they need practice so yes, IPL is good training ground!

I don’t return money for the weddings I attend if the marriage fails. Instead, the guys pay me more! Whenever I ask Chris Gayle, Owais Shah, Brad Hodge and Brendon McCullum how they are doing, their reply is: Must be doing good… the wife’s still there!

I really want to dance in my six-pack after winning the IPL. I haven’t seen Dada shirtless in a long time! All the 23-24 members of Team KKR will go topless after we win!

I have already done a song called Sardi khasi na malaria hua, now I will be able to do a film on malaria since I have found Vikram Sathaye (stand-up comedian and host for the evening) as my lead. He will be cast as the female anopheles mosquito! All the females I launch do well. Look at Deepika.

Eighty three per cent of the people say Eden Gardens is the best atmosphere. The rest of the 17 per cent are stupid.

I am an actor. I always lie. I say whatever you want to hear to see you smile.

Cricket is my third favourite sport after hockey and soccer. My favourite cricket films are Lagaan and Iqbal. We have the rights for the book The Zoya Factor and we will try to make it by the World Cup next year.

“When we win the IPL, Dav will ask us, ‘what more do you want?’!”

There is no secret or formula to make us reach the semis. I don’t talk cricket to the boys. We have to send them positive feelings. We have to make them feel happy. When you are down and out, you just have to forget that. We will win all the next five matches. That is the feeling we have to think when we wake up every morning. The great Michael Schumacher came eighth in the Malaysian Grand Prix but if he can rev up his engine again and try to win the next one, Inshallah. We are used to the losing bit being on the wrong end of the stick but this time we will set it right.

I'd like to learn marketing from SRK, Aamir: Hrithik

Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan is doing every bit to promote his upcoming film "Kites", but admits he doesn't know how to market a film and would like to learn it from his seniors Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan.

"I don't know about the strategy and the marketing side of films. I'm still young in that space and still need to learn from my seniors and people who have inspired me like Shah Rukh and Aamir," said Hrithik on a recent trip to the capital.

"I don't know much about it and I don't have that talent. I'm an actor and I'm learning," he added.

"Kites", a film about an Indian dance teacher's affair with a Latin woman and their predicament as they don't understand each other's language, is being made in Hindi and English. Directed by Anurag Basu, the movie also stars Mexican actress Barbara Mori and Kangana Ranaut and will release May 21 in over 60 countries.

Produced by Hrithik's father and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, the film will be distributed and marketed by Reliance BIG Pictures.
