Fiji Tourism And Economy To Be Boosted By SRK & BollyCeleb,

Giving a boost to Fiji economy and tourism, executive producer Mohammed Jalal, has decided to shoot three of his upcoming films namely 'Bombay Mumbai', 'Kia' and 'Let's Talk Love' in the island.

Around 200 people from the island will get a chance to feature in these films. People acting in these films would definitely attract money. According to Jalal, these films will bring about $20 million to Fiji’s economy.

“We will be probably hiring 200 people in Fiji. This will not include the crowd, but there will be 200 small roles. For example, police inspectors, lawyers, doctors, professors at universities and bar attendants. We will also be hiring 40 dancers from the country,” avers Jalal.

While 'Bombay Mumbai', starring Salman Khan, Anushka Sharma, Kangana Ranaut and Juhi Chawla will start rolling in January, 'Kia'¸ featuring Shahrukh Khan, Arjun Rampal, Boman Irani, Farida Jalal will follow in July and 'Let's Talk Love', starring Prachi Desai and Sahil Shroff will roll in September.

The films are likely to be shot in various locations around the country including Universities, parts of Suva, Nadi, Rakiraki, the Sand Dunes, Mamanuca group, Yasawas, Taveuni and Labasa too.

Said Fiji Audio Visual Commission CEO Florence Swamy, “Fiji would benefit immensely from the investment value and new economic activity.” She revealed there were talks for a fourth Bollywood film and a Hollywood production. "This will not only create economic opportunities but employment as well," she added.

It’s not just Akon that SRK might get jiggy with. Even cult music band The Prodigy will compose for RA.One

If getting hip-hop star Akon to groove in RA.One wasn’t enough, Shah Rukh Khan has now managed to rope in legendary English band, The Prodigy, as well.

For the background score of the film, the band will collaborate with the music director duo Vishal-Shekhar. Thanks to King Khan, this is the first time Vishal and Shekhar will join hands with the guys who gave us chartbusters like Smack My Bitch Up and Firestarter.

The electronic dance music band will come to India for a music concert in January 2011, post which work on RA.One is likely to start.

In a project that boasts of a lot of international collaborations already, headbanging to a group like Prodigy is clearly a big feather in SRK’s cap, even if doesn’t fall off that is. The editor of RA.One is Martin Walsh of Chicago fame, for instance, apart from several others who hail from Hollywood.

Talking about the many international collaborations the film boasts of, a source says, “The story of the film is very Indian at heart but the treatment is very high-tech. Hollywood has made a lot more films with superheroes and therefore has a better know-how with the genre.”

As for the collaboration with Prodigy, Vishal and Shekhar are apparently thrilled. Both of them think very highly of Prodigy and were very keen on getting them on board. They say Anubhav Sinha too was very excited about the band.

Vishal says, “We are in discussions with The Prodigy to do a track in RA.One. They are quite keen and so are we. Currently we are in the process of working out schedules.

They are playing the Invasion festival in January. So we are going to try and work dates out around that. This will be one of the biggest collaborations ever. Can’t wait.” Neither can we.

Shahrukh might have acted in only two films under Mahesh Bhatt’s direction in ‘Duplicate’ where he played a double role and in ‘Chaahat’ but Bhatt and SRK developed a good rapport which has resulted in the launch pad of Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter from Sonia Razdan Alia in the movie to be produced by Shahrukh Khan’s Red Chillies Productions and Karan Johar’s Dharma productions.

The movie also marks the entry of director David Dhawan’s son Varun Dhawan.

The movie will be triangle love story to be helmed by Karan Johar where Alia will play the love interest to both Varun and another newcomer Siddharth.

Alia was aspiring to become an actress for the past two years and sensing this SRK and Karan took the golden chance to introduce the new face to the audience.

Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan: The Battle Continues

Bollywood stars Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan are two of the most popular Khans who are loved and adored by thousands of fans. However, as they say there cannot be two rulers in one kingdom, so the fight for the ultimate title has always been quite an issue with these two stars as they have always managed to topple each other at some point of time or the other.

There are those who believe that SRK is the ultimate B Town hero, others think that it is perfectionist Aamir Khan who is the be all and end all of Bollywood, but the war still wages on. Now the argument that is going around is that will these two stars be able to deliver something different on the same subject? There is a group that feels that Mumbai is such a city with so much diversity that no two films made on the subject of this city’s life can be the same. Others feel that with the city of Mumbai having a somewhat same flavor, there is not much of a chance to have different flavors in the two films.

Yesterday when Shahrukh Khan returned (along with Priyanka Chopra) from Berlin after completing the shooting of Don 2, we caught up with him at the Mumbai airport and asked him about it, he said that he had expected something else out of twitter, and does not like the micro blogging site anymore.

All we can say is that if at all Shahrukh decides to quit twitter it will be more than 7 lakh people who will be disappointed.

Ady Putra to star alongside Shah Rukh in "Don 2"

BOLLYWOOD, take note — here comes Ady Putra!

The amazingly talented local actor is to star alongside Shah Rukh Khan in a big-budget flick entitled Don 2.

“When my agent called me up last month and said I got the part as Shah Rukh’s lawyer, my first reaction was ‘Are you sure they’ve got the right Ady?’ Wow, it was truly unexpected,” the hunky actor tells The Daily Chilli.

The 29-year-old, known for his bad boy roles in hit Malay movies like Anak Halal and Histeria, auditioned for the role in Kuala Lumpur in the middle of the year.He was informed that he was “the chosen one” last month.

“I went for a casting call handled by one of the production houses in KL,” Ady recollects.

“I’m thankful to Allah for the opportunity and the happiness that comes with it.”

He may be a Singaporean by birth, but Ady, who is married to a Malaysian, calls KL his home these days. “I’m in the process of getting my Malaysian PR soon,” he said.

Don 2, an action thriller, is the sequel to the 2006 blockbuster hit Don. It also stars Bollywood hotties Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta.

According to Ady, his part will be shot on Feb 15 and 16 in Sungai Udang, Malacca.

As part of his preparation for Don 2, the actor says he’s got to beef up his body. “You have to be in physically good shape if you want to be in a Bollywood film,” he said. “It’s a prerequisite.”

It’s the star’s designer! The designer knows it all – the shoe size, the colour of his hair, his likes and dislikes and even when he loses a kilo or puts on an inch.

Naresh Rohira (of Masculine in Juhu) has been superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s favourite designer for the past 20 years, ever since the actor casually strolled into his shop as Hema Malini’s new discovery.

“It is still so clear in my mind the day Shah Rukh Khan came to my store,” muses Naresh dreamily. “He was shooting those days for Hema Malini’s film Dil Aashna Hai.

He called me and walked into the shop, dressed in jeans with his shirt half tucked in and half hanging out. His trademark style. I took his measurement, he sat reading a newspaper and smoking.”

From that day to 2010, two decades later, Shah Rukh Khan’s measurements haven’t changed! “Except in the last two years when he was shooting for Ra.One and lost weight for it,” reveals the man who’s privy to such minute details about SRK. “During Dil Aashna Hai he got married and asked me to make a suit for him.

I made a black tuxedo and sent it to Delhi. He came back, met me and announced, ‘From now onwards you’ll be making all my outfits regularly’. It’s been 20 years and I am still with him. His loyalty towards his people is strong. Like me, his makeup guy, Ravi dada and Subhash dada, his right-hand man, have all been with him for years.”

Is Shah Rukh fastidious about what he wears? Is he aware of the latest trends in fashion and does he prompt Naresh towards the designs he wants? “He is the most non-fussy person I know,” says Naresh. “He likes to wear only black, will not wear any other colours.

He loves tuxedos and I have made more than 1000 suits for him, all in black with a white shirt inside. I have failed to make him wear colours like blue and grey. What he is very particular about are his jeans. They are only in various shades of blue. And he is particular when it comes to his films, the clothes should go with his character. Otherwise he is easy and non-fussy with his personal wardrobe.

Give him his favourite colours and he will wear whatever you give him. He also repeats his outfits easily and without a fuss. Before he goes to any function, I go to his house and choose his outfit.

When he was shooting in Berlin for Don 2, he asked me to send him suits for some functions he had to attend there and I sent them from here. Whatever boss (SRK) wears is made by us,” Naresh crows with evident pride. “I have a room downstairs in my shop which has jackets and other clothes exclusively for him. At home he is always in jeans, tees and sports shoes. He never wears shorts or chappals.”

For Eid this year, SRK had tweeted that he wanted his son Aryan to wear a sherwani. Did Naresh manage to come up with something suitable? “Oh yes,” he replies with alacrity. “I made both the sherwanis (for dad and son) in the same colour (black of course) and the same fabric.

I have told Shah Rukh that my son will make Aryan’s clothes at Masculine. For me, Masculine is Shah Rukh Khan. Even the bandhgala he wore for the Raavan premiere in London was made by us.”

Naresh has no insecurities when some of SRK’s film costumes are made by other designers. As he explains, “See, I only do men’s outfits and I have a business to run. I can’t always be on the sets, sit with the directors or travel to shoots. Over the years, the film business has changed. Designers do both male and female costumes. However, even if his films have other designers, all of boss’s costumes have to go through me.

I know his measurements, his moods, likes and dislikes. Just sometime back, his designer for a film came and ordered T-shirts. I told him that SRK does not wear short tees, he wears a particular length, but he refused to listen to me. When the tees were given to Shah Rukh at the shoot, boss saw the length and we had to bring the tees to his right size.

“I remember a very funny incident,” he goes on. “A whole lot of stuff had gone for him for a shooting and I didn’t check his shoes.

He wasn’t angry but joked, ‘Main pehen leta hoon, ek 8 hain ek 9 hai. It’s like Ajit wore in Yaadon Ki Baraat. This will start a trend.’ It was funny and I quickly arranged the right size!”

It’s said that his wife Gauri has a strong hand in deciding what SRK wears. Naresh happily concedes, “Gauri helped me a lot in the beginning when I started working for boss. She used to do his costumes and she gave me a lot of inputs which helped me. Now she is not involved in his clothes.

It’s between me and Shah Rukh. Karan Johar is also a great help and comes up with valuable suggestions. I have learnt a lot from him. Shah Rukh loves Italian shoes in tan, brown and black. At night he wears tracks and tees. He is basically a jeans and shirt guy.”

If all this paints the picture of an affable superstar not obsessed with his wardrobe, you’re dead right. His staff finds Shah Rukh easy to approach and humane. “Oh yes,” nods Naresh. “He knows their problems and tries to help them as much as possible. He’s really a down-to-earth guy.”

How many times has Shah Rukh visited the store in Juhu? “After I got the shop renovated, I had a puja and called him, but he was busy shooting. He told me to go ahead with the puja, as work is worship. Once he is back he will come here. I work for the best man in the business and I am happy!”

‘Don 2′ shows changes in underworld: Boman Irani

Farhan Akhtar’s “Don 2″ will show how the underworld has flourished in the past four years, says actor Boman Irani, who plays an important role in the movie.

” ‘Don 2′ shows what ‘Don’ is doing after four years. What he has become in four years. Vardhaan (the villain) is in jail,” Boman said.

“Don 2″, is a sequel to 2006 thriller “Don – The Chase Begins”, which was a modern day adaptation of megastar Amitabh Bachchan starrer “Don” (1978).

Boman maintains the action thriller has some jaw-dropping stunts.

“It has some implausible action and stunts. Lets us see first how it turns out after editing. But the crew and the stunt coordinator (in Berlin) are doing some fantastic stuff,” he said.

Apart from “Don 2″, the actor is also filming for director Priyadarshan’s “Tezz”.

Shah Rukh Khan...not shaken, not stirred. Filmfare gets a heady feeling,

We’ve seen you working out of your skin over the past few days. Does that stretch you out?
Ra.One is almost complete, barring a few days of polishing, touching up and reshooting. There are times when I go home, sit in my bathroom and stare out of the window feeling completely drained both mentally and physically. But it’s at such times when you feel most exhausted that you have to put in that extra effort and finish a job. There have been countless times when I’ve complained to my director and production team that I’m tired of making this film. But then I realise that everyone around me is as tired. I tell my team that when both he and his team mates are tired, it’s up to one of them to push the others and complete the work. Because it’s that last ounce of strength, which makes you truly successful. And, God forbid, even if things go wrong, you don’t feel guilty that you didn’t try hard enough. Recently, I read an interview with a big star saying that he wanted a holiday. And I instantly told myself, I need to work more, work harder and get things finished. If you ask me, I’d say I am running two days late in life. If I can get those two days from somewhere, I’ll be on schedule.

Do you ever lose your cool?
Maybe once or twice a year. But then I feel bad. I feel guilty after I’m angry. Ninety per cent of the people who’ve worked with me, genuinely love me. So when they see me hurt, they don’t like it. My kids are like that too. The other day I asked Aryan for a packet of chips and he just chucked it. I was looking the other way and it hit my face. So I reprimanded him. He got upset and wouldn’t speak to me. Then he asked whether I was serious. I told him that he had to behave himself. He got so emotional and the whole house got emotional. So I just told myself that I won’t lose my temper. Because, when you get angry it hurts others emotionally. On the sets, if I don’t like someone I’m nicest to them. So they’re confused. While they’re being mean, I’m still cordial. Some of them think I take a lot of shit, others think I am spineless because I don’t react. The thing is, if I’m really nice to you, I’ve overcome you. I don’t want to deal with you anymore in my life. When you overcome someone, the desire to be angry with them doesn’t exist any more. I only get angry with people who really matter to me. Actually, the only time you show true love is when you’re angry with someone. I’m angry because I’m concerned that you are doing things that are not right and I want you to do otherwise. Anger is one of the most beautiful expressions of love and concern.

How different will Ra.One be in terms of technology?
I’m not doing anything that hasn’t been done before. Yes, it has state-of-the-art CGI and a superhero concept but that’s been seen earlier. What is unique is the superhero setting in an Indian film, the spectacular action, exhilarating stuff that isn’t our regular Hindi movie fare. What will be path-breaking is the quality of cinema. I’m in pursuit of quality within my specific budget. If I can achieve that, then this film will be path-breaking, something future filmmakers could follow.
I’ve been saying this for a while now, if we don’t adapt new movie making technology, Indian audiences will stop watching Indian films. We are among the few countries that have local cinema. Let’s not lose that. I hope in a small way I can influence that. My film will be like a visiting card that says here is www.technology.com, please visit it and make use of it. I might have had foreign guys flown in to supervise the work but this is going to be an indigenous Indian CGI film. The entire VFX process has been done in my office. There are roughly 3800 VFX shots in this film, some you may not even realise are CGI, but most importantly all are done by Indians. In that way, it’s path-breaking because once the film is released, 250 Indians who’ve worked under the supervision of Oscar winners will be as adept as their foreign counterparts and 10 will be as good supervisors as those who were flown in from abroad.

What are your personal expectations from the film?
Ra.One is heartwarming and sweet. For me this would’ve worked even without the special effects. I’m making this film for my kids and their friends. The last film of mine they liked was Chak De! India. And I really want them to like this film too. Everytime I saw a movie like Krrish or Drona or any other foreign super hero film, I wished I could’ve made something like that for my kids. I really hope my kids and other kids like this film. This is a film according to my sensibilities. Most people and friends who’ve seen the rushes have been surprised. My wife and I saw Spider-Man with the kids. The kids loved it and wanted to see it again but my wife said she couldn’t. So my aim was to make a movie that the parents would like and watch again. I’m not a serious man so I will never be able to make a Taare Zameen Par. This is my genuine ode to fathers. In our movies the mother is always deified but where is the dad? I just wanted to make a film where dads feel cool.

So how do you feel when movies like Robot that you’d rejected do overwhelming business? Do you regret not doing them?
I have a simple logic, if it’s mine it’s the best and if it’s not mine it doesn’t matter. I don’t have an iota of ill will against anyone. My work does bother me; obviously I say to myself that I could have done this better. But others’ success or failure does not bother me. I’m happy that movies like
3 Idiots and Robot did well and it doesn’t matter that I did not do them. Similarly, Baazigar, Deewana, Darr and Chamatkar weren’t meant to be my films but I did them. Aditya Chopra had told me that he’d love me to do Dilwale… otherwise Saif Ali Khan would do it. You win some and you lose some. But if I wasn’t in the race, how could I win or lose? I told Rajkumar Hirani the other day that I couldn’t have done Munnabhai as well as Sanju (Sanjay Dutt). Certain things are meant for certain people.

You’ve always been compared to Aamir Khan and Salman Khan.
I wrote an article in which I said I’m the outsider insider. And I’ve always been strangely outside. How can you compare me with Amitabh Bachchan or Akshay Kumar or some new guy who hasn’t even started his career yet? That’s our mentality. We just want to compare. How many times do we hear that Tom Cruise is better than Brad Pitt? When I came into the industry Salman and Aamir were big stars. I’ve never compared myself to them not because I think I’m better than them but because I too have been around for 20 years. I’ve worked with them, around them and made a place for myself. Then suddenly they said I’d filled the void of a superstar. After that they started comparing Ajay Devgn and me because of which the two of us didn’t speak for years. Ajay’s a sweet guy, now I know him better because of Kajol. It’s weird that we never spoke to each other and yet comparisons were creating issues between us. Then there were comparisons with Mukul Dev, Chandrachur Singh and Suneil Shetty. Hrithik Roshan and I were supposed to have had a spat over him usurping my stardom. Hrithik is a good friend. These things have been going on for 20 years now.
